Endo and infertility… recently diagnosed

Hi,

I’m hoping someone might have a little more insight as it’s all new to me.

I had a lap last month and it confirmed my suspicions.
I had endometrial cyst lesions and disease in my uterosacral ligament and the pouch of Douglas.

Does anyone have any experience on these being the reason for your infertility?

I’ve had all visible lesions and disease removed via excision and diathermy ablation.

Thanks x

Endometriosis can definitely contribute to what is otherwise diagnosed as unexplained infertility. This can be due to where the disease is situated preventing various parts of the conception process happening, creating an inhospital environment for your eggs to mature/embryo to implant, or other similar factors. If you have had everything excised/ablated, you may find that you are now able to conceive without assistance within a few months - again everything is anecdotal, but it is definitely a possibility.

I just found out I have endo and adenomyosis and have been advised to down regulate with monthly Prostrap injections before FET. Glad you have had some treatment. Wishing you a speedy recovery x

Thank you both.

We are back to the fertility clinic within three months so will see what their plans are.

I just wondered whether either of those places has made a significant difference to fertility.

I’m hoping we may be “lucky” now the endo has been removed.

Just to say fingers crossed for you - I had endo in the same places, adeno, fibroids and (as I found out later) blocked tubes from the endo. I also have a low AMH so didn’t down regulate and had quite a high dose of gonal f for my cycle. I had endo removed in my early twenties with some ovarian cysts but it came back in my thirties. My gynaecologist said not to touch anything any further as it creates scarring - it all worked out for me and I had my little one in my first cycle.

Just trying to reassure you that there are loads of protocols for endo, and sometimes they advise doing nothing. I’m sure all of those treatment options are valid and give good results!

Wishing you lots of luck! Xx

@Passanotherjaffacake interesting to hear your experience and glad you had success with your treatment. Can I ask what you meant about not down regulating due to your low AMH? Thanks x
