Bit embarrassing but wondering if anyone's had experience... I'm supposed to be starting a cycle on my next period (due in about 4 days) and I'm feeling like there's the hint of beginnings of thrush. Only very slightly am I thinking I feel a bit dry which usually gradually turns into thrush. Hopefully if it materialises I'll have time to treat it quickly but if not, has anyone gone ahead with a cycle while experiencing it... ultrasound probes etc would be uncomfortable I guess...but does it affect anything else? I'm wondering if all the hormones might mean it won't go away and then I'll be stuck with it all the way through Confused

@Rosiestraws if you think you have thrush brewing then pop down to the pharmacy and get some treatment today. You'll have a couple of weeks until an internal scan and it should have cleared up by then. I recommend you take some specific probiotics moving forward, I take femdophilus, there is evidence that this improves the microflora in the genital tract, generic probiotics may not. I have been found to have horrendous microflora which is very important for success.

I'd get it looked at now as the gel and constant ultrasounds always gave me thrush anyway and you really don't want untreated thrush and then the gel making it worse 😬

I got mild thrush after both FETs, it’s quite common due to all the hormonal changes. Agree with others, better to treat it early now.

Thanks for the replies.

Nothing materialised so far...just a bit concerned if there's any side effects if I used the thrush treatment and it wasnt actually thrush! I guess I'll keep a close eye on it and carry on... I assume there's actually no medical issue to carry on with things if I did develop thrush during the injecting part etc and I could just treat it then? Confused

I agree with garden lady, get some probiotics. I have had the same tests (biopsy of uterine lining) as her and it shows I have low levels of good bacteria in my uterus and that can affect implantation (I've had 4 failed transfers). The treatment is vaginal and oral probiotics. I use the Optibac for women ones as that's what my doctor recommended and Canesflor for the vaginal ones.

Recurrent thrush sufferer here 👋 I came down with it the day before egg collection on my fresh cycle and the clinic were happy to go ahead, but advised me to start the canestan pessaries the day after. You absolutely mustn't take the oral 'once' canestan though - that causes problems if you're doing IVF/are pregnant. I sadly had an MMC that cycle, but my clinic took the recurrent thrush infections (and possibility that it had caused the MMC) seriously and advised me to take the optibac for women probiotics too (like @seven201). They followed up before my FET and said I had the most lactobacillus they've ever seen, so the good bacteria are definitely getting where they need to be 👍 Not had thrush since starting the probiotics either (18 months now). Currently 13+1 after my second FET, so hoping getting the lactobacillus where they need to be might have finally cracked it 🤞🔮🤞🔮 Good luch to you @Rosiestraws🍀
