Will a 3 month wait reduce my chances for IVF?

I am 40 and have just done 2 unsuccessful IVF cycles and want to try one more with my own eggs before looking at the donor egg option. I could start the final cycle in July but I have a 3 week holiday planned for mid-Aug Covid allowing. That would be 1 month after the ET which would be fine if it's unsuccessful but if it actually works this time I don't know if it would be a good idea to travel at that time due to the risk of miscarriage or ectopic pregnancy. Additionally I would appreciate a break for mental health reasons as it really seems to take over my life since you basically have to isolate during the whole cycle due to avoid cancellation due to Covid. Would a 3 month delay significantly reduce my chances of success? Would you wait or just get it over and done with (and cancel the holiday?)?

Hey , I would personally cancel the holiday . It depends what’s more important to you . At 40 I wouldn’t take any risks and I would do IVF as soon as possible Smile

I actually think that after two failed cycles you really need the holiday and cancelling it for the sake of an earlier cycle would actually put a lot more pressure on you and make it more loaded. I know what hell infertility is, as I'm living it. I also know how important it is to have balance with life otherwise you'll go mad. Trust me I've nearly gone mad many times.xx

If you’ve done your 2 cycles in a short space of time, delaying it might not be a bad idea, as my 3rd cycle of embryo banking was my least productive. I think my body needed a break by then.

Given the stress and toll of 2 cycles already, I don’t think a 3 month break is that significant even at 40, people often leave longer gaps due to health or finances.
