When did your OHSS subside?

Just that really.
I developed mild ohss 4 days after EC, they still went ahead with transfer. It pretty much died down within a week and come back with a vengeance about 4 days before test day. Which followed with a positive test. I've now had moderate ohss for a week now and doesn't seem to be letting up at all. I'm in agony, painful to walk etc and sleep what's that? I do go for regular check ups and blood tests and am on blood thinners but no one at the hospital seem to have any idea of a time frame of how long it will last. I can put up with it as know it will be worth it.
Just wondered what others experiences are with it ?
Thanks

Congratulations on your BFP!

I came to answer because I had OHSS, but I had a freeze all so it mostly went away within a couple of weeks. I have to say I'm surprised they did the fresh transfer if you already had OHSS, no matter how mild, as it's known that pregnancy exacerbates it.

Like you say, it's worth it, but I hope it gets better soon. I know how uncomfortable it can be Flowers

Congratulations on your positive test!

I also had moderate OHSS with this pregnancy, currently 32 weeks. Was not high risk at all so transfer went ahead as planned and the clinic were very surprised that I got it. Had exactly the symptoms you're describing. It was very painful! Could hardly move, could not lie flat, very breathless.

I'm pleased to say it eased off fairly quickly, the worst symptoms started to settle within 7-10 days and I avoided hospital admission. Abdominal bloating and pain did carry on to some extent until about 10 weeks pregnant but got gradually better - I could return to work as normal etc. I stopped the blood thinners at 12 weeks.

I hope it settles down very soon for you. Take it as easy as possible, plenty of fluids, paracetamol regularly and call your clinic or go to A&E straight away if it gets worse rather than better. It was horrible at the time but is a distant memory already and all worth it in the end. xx

@lottie198 you basically described what I had last year after fresh transfer. Pain, difficult to walk, bloated. One night I was in terrible pain and nearly went to A&e. This was a few days before test day. Clinic told me to test early and was positive. I then got worse lots of sickness etc. Then subsided after a week. I was pregnant with twins but miscarried. I had a sudden loss of symptoms. From my understanding OHSS gets worse as hcg increases so look after yourself. I wish I had looked after myself better. Hope you feel better soon and your pregnancy progresses xx

Thanks everyone for the responses. I'm still not great but no worse thankfully. I had an abdominal scan today and they said I was absolutely full of fluid in every bit of space possible. Also that my ovaries are over 10cm!! They couldn't see a baby sac but it wasn't an internal scan and I'm only 5 weeks they said it's too early. Just hope everything is ok. The worrying never stops does it!

You're so right. My ivf baby was induced at 35 weeks because I had obstetric cholestasis, and as I was in labour I thought that I knew it was too good to be true and it wouldn't work out. I think it's normal to worry but infertility makes the worry so much worse. Hopefully your OHSS will subside soon and you'll be able to see a lovely heartbeat on your early scan 😍
