Transfer - no fragrance or deodorant?

Hello I'm hopefully having a transfer in a few days. My previous clinic advised me to use fragrance-free soap and no deodorant or perfume on transfer day but current clinic haven't mentioned it.
Just wondering if other clinics recommend this, if there is any scientific basis to it? And if there is does it mean the embryologists ought not to wear perfume too?
I'm kind of paranoid now anyway and won't use anything fragranced but just curious as to the reason. I've never had an embryo stick around so would do pretty much any ridiculous thing if it increased chances even a tiny fraction!

It's because the embryos are very sensitive to smells etc. always best to be safe.

My clinic always say the same, so i stick to it. Thankfully the mask comes in handy lol, although i've got used to not wearing make up since WFH. From what i have seen, the embryologists & medical team don't appear to wear make up either and i've never detected any hint of a perfume.

Remember to avoid hair sprays/get etc if you use any of that too.

Hiya. M my clinic advised this too. Apparently the embryos are very sensitive to strong odours that can damage them.
I used all of the 'simple' range in the shower before I went in for egg collection. My husband also used the shower gel. Didn't wear any perfumes or strong fragrant creams or anything either.
I also tried to really air on the side of caution and washed and dried my hair the night before so it wasn't really strong smelling of shampoo. I don't know whether this was necessary but I wanted to be sure I was doing everything right.

Thanks all, I have Sanex zero and Simple soap.
I will be looking at the embryologists now but yes mask definitely helps with no makeup!

@coffeewithmilk I had actually debated washing my hair with my fragrance-free shower gel so definitely on the same page.
Just don't want to have anything to reprimand myself for. A friend told me off for wearing sandals as she said you're supposed to keep feet warm! It was just another thing to wonder about and beat myself up about.

My clinic was the same. I wore no deoderant or fragrance and showered with a Simple shower gel which has a very mild scent (cucumber i think) which doesn't stick around once washed off. I just didn't wash my hair for a few days beforehand (but I don't need to wash my hair more often than twice a week anyway).

I also didn't soften the clothes I was wearing. It's probably overkill but softened clothes can have a strong smell which I was paranoid would linger on my skin, especially given the proximity of knickers!

Good luck!
