Line eyes, is this a chemical pregnancy?

I have a feeling I already know the answer 😢
I'm 10dp5dt with a good grade frozen embryo. Took a test this morning a couple of days early and got a really faint positive. I know any positive is a positive, but whenever I've seen other people's at this stage they seem much darker. I have a horrible feeling it's a chemical.
Has anyone else had a BFP like this that has gone on to a successful pregnancy? Or do I need to admit defeat on this one?

@forivfssake Hello. So firstly, that is a proper line - it's not a squinter. So you have a clear positive pregnancy test which is good. Congratulations!

I totally understand your panic tho - I've had 4 treatment cycles and had a negative, chemical, miscarriage and successful pregnancy so totally get the worry.

I wouldn't write this one off at all - as I said that is a proper line. I'm not sure how strong the FRERs are in those very early days - you are 15dpo equivalent so late enough to get a clear result but no so late that it should be super strong. Don't forget that most clinics get people to test 12-14dp5dt so that is 17-19 dpo. So when you see other peoples' tests online on OTD they are later than you and each day makes a difference at this point.

Personally I use a combo of FRER and CB digital with weeks indicators to give me a bit more information. Hope that doesn't drive you even crazier!! I like to see the progression tho personally.

Best of luck and if I were you I would be feeling cautiously hopeful (well actually I'm a total panicker so I'd probably be doing what you're doing!!! But my advice is cautious optimism!!) xxx

I definitely wouldn't write that of as a CP yet - I've attached mine from 9dp 6 dt fit you to see and it's not strong, but I'm 28 weeks now. Good luck xxx

For me it's not a chemical until you've had positive tests followed by negatives and /or AF. However I also understand that self preservation makes us fear the worst. Fingers crossed you get your BFP, frosties can take a little longer to implant can't they? so that could be a reason why the test is fainter than you would like, or it might have less dye than others, or you might have had a fuller bladder (I'm sure there's any number of reasons)

Hi @forivfssake my wife took at the same time as you and hers was fainter than that. She is now 29 weeks pregnant. Wishing you the best of luck.

Thanks everyone. I did have a tiny bit of brown spotting yesterday but that stopped. I'm being cautiously optimistic as today's test is definitely no lighter, if anything it's a bit darker.

Just in case anyone finds this forum in the future looking for answers, unfortunately this transfer ended in a chemical pregnancy. On to the next go!

@forivfssake I'm so sorry to hear this. We go through so much doing IVF that a chemical is just such a cruel outcome. I have been there myself too. Sending lots of love xxx

Ah I'm sorry @forivfssake Flowers

I was going to respond to your initial post to say congratulations etc but, even though a test like that can work out (as PPs said) I was wary of going against your gut feeling. Sad to read it didn't work out this time. Hope you're okay.
