Hi, I've never posted on a forum before but hoping to get some support from people who understand. My wife and I (same sex couple) have been going through fertility treatment for two years now. I've had 3 IUI cycles resulting in one missed miscarriage, and one IVF cycle (2 embryos) resulting in a further missed miscarriage and then this week's FET from first cycle resulted in the embryo not surviving thawing, even though it was top grade. I'm really struggling with all the waiting in between now and our consultant suggests my period will come in a week or two and then that we wait until the next one after that to start a fresh cycle again. She said if we are desperate, I could start the fresh IVF with my period in a week or two but would advise we wait. We are waiting on her rationale for this and how strongly she advises it as we are just so desperate to get keep going. We've already waited 5 months since my miscarriage to get to the FET due to complications with d&c and investigations re the miscarriages and to get to the FET and it be cancelled was crushing. As with lots of other people, we had delays due to COVID too. I can't bear another 3 months of waiting which it would be by the time we had the next embryo transfer if we take our consultants advice. Anyone had a FET that didn't survive the thaw and how long until you started fresh cycle? Also, any stories of hope with inherited blood clotting disorders and being on blood thinners in pregnancy? Just feels like hope is slipping away. Just for more information... I'm 34, using own eggs and sperm donor.

Hi @JHA1603 I’m really sorry to hear about the miscarriages, waiting is so frustrating in this process. I’m in a bit of a different situation, I’ve had 2 unsuccessful transfers and I’m having investigations at the moment, as part of this I had my frozen embryos PGT-A tested, they told me one didn’t survive the thaw, I asked which one and they said it was my best one, a 1,1 hatching embryo with an embryoscope score of 10/10, I was shocked by this, that’s the best possible grading, the grading is supposed to indicate how well they will freeze and thaw. The embryologist said he has worked in the lab for 10 years and he has seen it happen before with other 1,1’s. In my case I had other embryos and it wasn’t on the day of the transfer, I can imagine it was devastating for this to happen to you on ET day.

Have they done any investigations for your miscarriages? Would it be worth PGT-A testing the embryos in your fresh cycle in case the ones that miscarried were aneuploid?
