Slow rising hcg at 5 weeks - any experiences?

Hello,
After a BFP from a double 3 day transfer, i have had hcg bloods done and it's not rising as quickly as it should be. I'm booked for a scan on friday when i will be 6 weeks.
I had a similar experience last year where i had slow rising hcg but saw a heartbeat in early scans but then miscarried at 9 weeks. Just wondering if this is the inevitable outcome? Would appreciate if anyone has experience of this that they could share?
My levels:
4+4 = 931
4+6 = 1430
5+3 = 2891 (today)

Hi @Galgal15 sorry for your loss last year and that you're in a worrying position now.

I had a similar situation to you last year. Hcg stopped rising properly at 5 weeks then saw heartbeat and had growth etc but had a loss at 8w4 days.

There are women who have slow rising Hcg and go on to have healthy babies too tho. They also say that with a double transfer it can be a case of a vanishing twin - where initially you had two implant but one didn't make it. That can make it look as tho the Hcg isn't doubling.

Having said all that your numbers don't look too bad anyway. Not exactly doubling but still rising quite significantly.

I'm sorry to say that there is no way of knowing other than to go scan to scan, test to test. It is a very painful process. I really hope you have a positive result this time

Sending you lots of love

Hi @Janefx40, thanks for your lovely message.
My sympathies on your loss too.

I used to think getting the BFP was the final hurdle but infertility is such a horribly complicated & difficult process 😔 I'll just have wait until Friday and hope for the best.

I hope you have had better results since your loss last year.

Yes we all work towards that BFP but the real anxiety comes after. We are about to start a new round and I'm almost more worried about coping with getting a BFP than I am about it failing!!

Good luck. Us IVFers are total warriors!

Best of luck @Janefx40. Hope your cycle is successful, and as stress-free as possible!
