Naturelo supplements (Recommended in It Starts With The Egg)

Hello,
I was wondering if anyone has used the Naturelo supplements when pregnant?
I am going through IVF soon and wanted to try this supplement as it's been recommended in the book 'It starts with the egg'.
From my previous pregnancies through IUI I used a different supplement. These pregnancies ended in miscarriage sadly (nothing to do with the supplement) but this IVF is our last chance, so I wanted to try whatever supplements were going to potentially help give us the best chance and help with egg quality. Also I'll be using a different CoQ10 this time (recommended in the same book). I want to start taking these now in preparation for my egg retrieval in 2 months but wondered if people have used this brand during pregnancy. Thanks in advance.

I did, I liked them :-). Apparently they’ve changed the formula since I used them and some are saying they’re fishy. They’ve also reduced the amount of choline (and there wasn’t enough to begin with). I read Rebecca Fett next book on what to take during pregnancy and she really recommends a separate choline supplement. I take Solgar 350

@whatcangowrong Thats really good to know. Thank you. I'll check that out. I'm part way through the second edition of her book. Do you take Choline throughout the pregnancy?

Yep, and breastfeeding if you plan to do that too. I've forgotten the amounts but it's even more than pregnancy. I really liked her second book.

@whatcangowrong Thats great. Thank you for that, I'll definitely check it out and buy some. I've just been googling it and seen just how many prenatal vitamins do not have Choline even though it's so important.

@whatcangowrong is the second book 'Brain Health from Birth'? I've just looked online and it has great reviews! Thanks for the recommendation..! 🙂

Yes that's the one!

Weird title as there is absolutely loads about pregnancy in it! I feel like more people would read it with a different title, I really enjoyed and it felt like I could do loads of positive things nutrition and lifestyle wise.

I'm not pregnant yet (due to start 2nd IVF cycle soon) but I must admit I just take the regular Naturelo "Once Daily Multivitamin for Women". It still has the 400 mcg Folate the NHS recommend, plus more than the recommended dose of Vitamin D3 they also say you need (and the Vitamin A is from Beta Carotene so it's pregnancy safe).

I struggled to justify spending more than double the price for the Prenatal version as I already eat a fairly balanced diet and just want to take a good quality, more "natural" multi -vit for extra safety. But I realise the regular women's one doesn't contain any Choline so if you don't each much meat, fish or dairy, I can see why it might be a better choice.

BTW they also claim to have sorted out the fishy problem now with the Prenatal ones - they say it was the DHA causing it, so they have taken the DHA out of the formula (the regular multi -vit doesn't have it in anyway so doesn't have this problem - I take a separate fish oil supplement just in case but it still works out a lot cheaper).

Good to know and yeah agree it makes sense to buy the normal ones, especially pre pregnancy. I’m ttc / preparing for ivf and am taking my left over prenatal ones but I might look into what you’re doing next.

Thanks for all the info. I did actually look at the daily women's tablet but wasn't sure with the vitamin A. I didn't realise it was pregnancy safe..! I've also now purchased DHA as a separate tablet.
