Clomid/egg quality for someone that does ovulate regularly but only has one tube

Hi ladies, after having my tube removed as a result of an ectopic pregnancy during 2017. I have had numerous miscarriages but am able to conceive naturally my fear is poor egg quality. Will clomid help improve egg quality. I have a 20 month old DD and do anything for a sibling for her.

Have you talked with a gyanecologist?.

Clomid's job is to encourage the ovaries to work harder. If there is definitive proof that you are ovulating regularly (via both blood tests and ultrasounds confirming ovulation) then clomid can have the reverse effect.

@AttilaTheMeerkat, thank you, I am currently waiting for conformation of my 5th miscarriage but have an appointment with my gynaecologist later in the month. I have also booked a consultation with an IVF clinic CRGW so was intending to discuss it with both.

I hope you will get all the support you need going forward regarding miscarriage Flowers. I have heard good things about the Miscarriage Association and their link is here:-

Do let us know how you get on.

Hi @Cellwen I'm sorry for your losses ❤️ have you had any of your babies tested? I've had 4 losses and my last one was tested and he was chromosomally healthy. I'm seeing a reproductive immunologist and he uses Letrozole on a superovulation programme, using a trigger injection. I think that is supposed to help better quality follicles grow. I do struggle to conceive, so I'm trying that in my next cycle.

Have you had any recurrent miscarriage testing? X

@VenusStarr hi thanks for your reply, I haven’t had any of my babies tested all my miscarriages have been identified by 11 weeks. I have had recurrent bloods they showed an under active thyroid which I have been treated for and a slightly raised cardio lipin level, so I have been prescribed progesterone, aspirin and heparin when I do get a positive test. My age is against me I’m 41 and my husband is 52 with a low sperm count. Even though I have been pregnant 7 times in the last 5 years only one has been successful, all ending in early miscarriage so I’m guessing chromosomes are to blame even. However I have had my right tube removed as a result of an ectopic pregnancy in 2017 each failed pregnancy has come from the right ovary. My successful pregnancy came from the left so I want to look into follicle tracking and only try when the egg is being released from the left. Maybe it won’t make a difference but I’ve got to try I’m convinced there’s something wrong with the eggs from my right ovary
