Low progesterone

Hi all
I had my transfer yesterday and I have just had a progesterone blood test result today which confirmed I had low progesterone. I took lubion from today. However I’m worried as think this may stop the embryo implanting as levels were low at the point of transfer. Has anyone else had low progesterone and only received this news a day after transfer? TIA

@GreyGoose1980 what was the progesterone result? Mine came back as 46.6, the test was done the day before transfer but came back the day of transfer. My specialist said nobody knows what level is adequate, some specialists use over 20, others over 30, my specialist goes with over 50, so she told me to increase the dose, but that it was ok.

The transfer was unsuccessful, no idea why, probably not related to the progesterone. The only way to tell how long you need to be on progesterone for is an ERA test, you’d need a mock cycle for that.

Thanks for the reply - appreciate your response. My result was 29 an hour or so after transfer. My clinic want it to be over 50 so it was low. Was yours a medicated transfer? Sorry your transfer didn’t work. Hope future ones work for you.

@GreyGoose1980 yeah, it was medicated, was yours natural FET? I’m hoping to do natural FET moving forward. I’ve seen various cut offs for progesterone in studies, I’m sure some specialists would be fine with 29, so I wouldn’t worry too much. Fingers crossed for your transfer!

Mine was medicated too this time although I’ve previously done a natural FET. I moved clinic (to do DE) and this clinic only advised medicated but I’ll query it if this transfer doesn’t work and I need to do another one! I think it makes sense to try both and my last clinic preferred natural if possible.

@GreyGoose1980 clinics seem to prefer either medicated or natural. From the reading I’ve done, if cycles are regular, natural is the best option. My clinic prefer medicated because they close on a Sunday, so there’s a 1 in 7 chance of the cycle being cancelled and if they go with medicated then they can take on as many patients as possible and adapt medication courses for their own scheduling.

In my case I vomit with estradiol and I’ve just been diagnosed with a progesterone allergy. I really don’t want to go with medicated again.

I hope this one work for you and you won’t need another cycle!

Thanks @Gardenlady543
That may explain why my new clinic are advising medicated. I hope you are able to try a natural cycle next time.
