Hi all

So I'm having a freeze all due to OHSS risks and fluid in my lining. Had egg collection Wednesday pass and beyond what I could have hoped for I now have four lil blastocysts in the freezer.
I have had my bleed start today, so I need to wait for my next period after this and then back at it again with oestrogen tablets and then the pessaries. Provisionally looking at April 17th for transfer - depending on my period coming on time!

Basically looking for any tips on what I could/should do to prepare during this time. Quite glad to give my body a break from the stims for this. I have seen a lot about pineapple, pomegranate juice etc but have no idea about anythinG

Any tips or superstitions (like wearing socks) for this round?

Tips - eat healthy, keep hydrated, go zero caffeine, don’t eat anything that wouldn’t be allowed in early pregnancy after the transfer. Superstitions- socks on, McDonalds chips after transfer ( something about salt content I hear)

I started out this way for my FET. About a week after transfer, I decided if the blast was good, there would be little I could do to prevent it sticking, which helped me at that stage. But before that, following superstitions and having healthy habits helped me feel I was doing something.

Mine were:
No caffiene, sweets, pop, alcohol and limited sugar but don't make yourself miserable;
Plenty of veg. Raw before transfer (salad, spinach etc) but I heard it's important not to get cold inside 😂 so after transfer, stew, soup, stir fry. I felt what I included in my diet was more important than what I cut out;
Brazil nuts;
Pineapple core;
Warm, tight, long socks. Think long haul flight socks. Every day;
Keep warm and cosy. 0 uncomfortable clothing;
I lined up comedies and stand up shows I knew I would laugh at because I heard laughter is good??? I enjoyed it so couldn't have harmed;
Meditation. There are some videos on YouTube relating to ivf transfers;
Trying to be generally Zen so make sure your house is a nice place to be beforehand - tidy, clean and comfortable. Avoid any negative people etc.
No heavy exercise but plenty of gentle strolls;
Positive thinking. Difficult to control, I know (and I'm certainly not saying it has a bearing) but I personally imagined myself as a pregnant woman everyday. I wanted to stop being angry at my broken unwomanly body after so many years. I also constantly imagined what my blast was doing assuming it was implanting and growing;
Lastly, I ignored any superstitions that didn't work for me (pomegranate juice, for example). This is probably my best advice! I was aiming for a pleasant (though impatient) 2ww.

Fairly certain it's all crap but I had to do it just in case! It made me feel better anyway and that's important Smile

Very best of luck to you! 🤞

@Yokey those are some amazing tips thank you so much for all that!
Lots for me to do!
Would you suggest starting a lot of this now or are there some that are best to do after transfer?

I have a part time job stacking shelves so I'm gonna have to try take some time off that or grab some of the lighter stuff to stock! 🙈

I would definitely eat well now and maybe meditate (if it's your thing. I loved it). The rest, well, it wouldn't hurt 😂 but most of it I did after transfer. Get organised for a relaxing time leading up to and following, so make sure everything is tidy, warm clothes organised, great tv lined up, good food ready.

I would be telling work you've hurt your back when it comes to lifting heavy items! It will almost definitely do you no harm, but pregnant until proven otherwise so no heavy lifting.

I'll be doing this all again later in the year when I go for another FET!
