Dr Ramsey - IVF - can anyone share their experiences?

We’ve had 4 failed Fets / fresh transfers. We have male fertility issues - low numbers etc.

Before we do the next egg collection we are hoping to speak to Dr Ramsey. We don’t know this yet - but there is potentially high DNA fragmentation of my DH sperm

My only concern from what I’ve heard is that Mr Ramsey’s approach can take many months - following a strict diet etc. Before you actually get to the egg collection stage.

I just wondered what people’s experiences were like and time frames from initial consultation to conceiving / having another round of IVF

Many thanks x

Hi, we saw Dr Ramsey and he was one of the nicest men you'd ever meet. DH was put on a strict diet, meds, exercise regime. He'd had a previous sample with 1 motile sperm. Literally one, singular. Previous to that no sperm at all, for all of his 43 years. After Dr Ramsey, we had 65 sperm per sample, ICSI at Reprofit Cz and now, a baby :-) It's worth the wait. It all happened within about 6 months.

I would organise the DNA fragmentation test before your DH sees Dr Ramsay as the results will give him more to work with. It's called Examen if you want to search for it.
Things take time because it takes 90 days for sperm to be created so if you want the sperm from the nee regime there will be a wait. Obviously he may find something else to work on. I understand your keenness to get going again but the extra time invested may be worth it, no guarantee obviously but if you are going to pay for expert advice you might as well follow it. Good luck.

Thank you @Smeeglz what a brilliant outcome congratulations

@LongerthanMrTicklesarms thanks for your advice I will definately look into getting the test done and go from there.

Went to see Mr Ramsey, as PP said he is a really lovely guy and for us was super reassuring. There wasn't a lot he could do for us but only cos my DH's endocronologist had been absolutely amazing and taken every step correctly.

He did check for any other issues and give us advice on diets and expectations etc. and was very reassuring of our future chance.

We've just done our first round of ICSI (freezing all) and got our PGS results today (I am 32 btw):
6 mature eggs
5 fertilised
5 made it blast
3 PGS normal

So percentage wise above average results overall even with my husband's very poor sperm count

@LongerthanMrTicklesarms I don't think you can have DNA frag test on low sperm count. My husband had 100k and we were told it wasn't enough to do the test

I'm also interested in this as we have MFI only. We're doing one more round of ICSI with some recommendations from the clinic and if that doesn't work we will look to do more test on DH. We're not in London though so it will be an investment! Can anyone share thoughts on the diet regime he recommends?

Our experience with Dr. Ramsey has been terrible. Money driven doctor in an extrimely sensitive area (the hope to become parents). After years of consultation and tests, we were told that our only hope was to use a donor. Now we have our own biological three years old son.
