Clomid for 2nd on NHS?

It took me 2 years to conceive my first and we had already had an initial appointment for IVF on the NHS (I have PCOS). I fell pregnant after my HSG so I don't know if that played a part.

Have been trying for a second for a year now. I'm just wondering if there is any help available? Ideally a clomid prescription as I don't ovulate every month. Has anyone had this for a second?

I need medication for my second, DS was conceived with clomid. I have pcos and currently doing letrozole cycles. Also some areas don't offer anything for secondary infertility so you'll need to check what they're able to do.

I had my ovaries drilled for my ds. I was told to not leave it a year of ttc my second before going back to the gynaecologist. So after about 9 months, we arranged a referral from the gp. Our journey for our dd consisted of: Clomid, metformin, follicle tracking, a repeat laparoscopy/ovarian drilling. All done by the NHS. After zero success, we were finally told that our only hope was icsi/ivf and it would have to be done privately because of our ds. This whole journey with the NHS ttc number 2 lasted from 2007 til 2012. Then, summer 2012 we had icsi (my dh had undiagnosed sperm issues) and our dd was conceived first go, she is now 7.

So, absolutely the NHS will help you but there are limits. I was lucky that my gynaecologist was prepared to keep trying different things to help us. I am in the West Midlands.

Good luck!

Thanks for the responses. I've spoken to my GP and he's going to refer me, but doesn't know what they'll be able to offer.
