Single female TTC - so much information, help!

Hello,

I am a 30 year old single female with very low fertility. I have an AMH of 5 and this week they found just 6 follicles in total.

I've decided to go ahead with ivf using donor sperm however there is so much information i don't know where to start!

I had my private tests done at Create Wimbledon and was recommended the 3 cycle ivf package. They explained this would be the best chance to harvest as many eggs/embryos as possible before implanting but I am worried that only one transfer is included.

I'm based in Sussex and had been to the Agora last year but found it to be quite expensive. I've now researched the Access packages and I'm swaying towards this. The only concern I have is that you must use all frozen embryos before moving on to the next cycle. Is this any less successful than harvesting for 3 rounds then implanting?

If anyone has any experience or advice I would love to hear it.

Thanks Smile

Hello, I’m with Create St Pauls. Have just completed a 3 cycle freeze all package with PGS. Recently turned 42, so am doing PGS to hopefully save time as miscarriage risk is high at my age. Am also using a donor too, I chose one through Create, they will give you a list, or you can order from another bank, but you’d have to pay transportation costs.

I was worried about it just including 1 transfer, it does seem a bit tight! However, I have managed to collect a good number of embryos which are now frozen. Will cost around £1500 per additional FET. Create are a convenient location for me, plus their mild/quality over quantity approach made sense to me.

I don’t know anything about Access, but I know some ladies on here are with them. I don’t see using all frozen embryos first as a big issue, but potentially would mean you would have to transfer a poorer quality embryo, rather than continue with another cycle to try to find a ‘better’ one. Embryo grading is subjective though and if the clinic thinks it’s suitable for freezing, then it’s good enough to work.

Create have been fine for me, very nice medical staff. Getting through to reception can be a pain sometimes, but if you email your patient coordinator, they will respond within 24 hours.

If you can find a similar priced package which includes 2 transfers, maybe go for that. I think some clinics offer 2 cycle packages too, if you didn’t want to go for 3. Good luck, it’s daunting, but will be fine once you get going with it!

@IslandStars thank you so much for your reply. It was really helpful and I have gone back to CREATE re the price for further embryo transfers.

I have so many questions swirling around so have emailed both places with all the questions and hopefully with the answers in writing it will be a bit clearer.

So happy to hear you have a good number of embryos. How did you find the whole procedure of collection etc?

Good luck with your transfer, wishing you the best Smile

@laurakatex No problem, glad it's helped, thanks for the good luck wish!

My egg collections were fine overall. Not painful, but later in the day i had some nausea and just generally felt whacked out by it all. The first one was very daunting, as i hate the unknown and there is the worry over how many eggs will be collected/fertilised etc, but got easier for the next ones and the staff do their best to distract you and keep you as relaxed as possible. Once in theatre, you won't know about it, the sedation knocks most people out entirely, so it will all be over before you know it.
