After all our tests including HyCoSy coming back as normal, due to painful periods and stabbing pains in the rectum during period and painful sex, I have been referred for a diagnostic laproscopy for suspected Endo. My tubes are clear, no cysts and I ovulate according to scans, blood tests and kits so I am just wondering if anyone had Endo in other ares which wouldn't obviously affect fertility such as bowel or pouch of Douglas and then successfully got pregnant after removal? Or also I would like to hear if people didn't and went on to IVF? I'm just unsure really if there's any point getting my hopes up that removal will help as I can be reffered for IVF now but I plan on waiting for a few months to see what happens after the Lap. Also my AMH IS 12.96 and I'm 30 but AFC is 22 so I think my ovarian reserve is hopefully normal.

@jng18 after 2 years you should be entitled to full fertility tests - Has your huband had a sperm analysis? If everything else comes back normal and your endo had gotten as far as in to your ovaries causing the endometria it is probably likely that it is affecting your fertility I would have thought. I was petrified at first but have got my head round that it will be a good thing to get it removed. A lot of people have success after removal or via ivf. You can pay to have your Amh privately and if it showed low ovarian reserve you may be better avoiding an operation and going straight to IVF but if its high then you might not need to worry about one operation to remove a cyst asi don't think the operation reduces ovarian reserve dramatically..sending hugs I'm on month 24 now with one misscarriage too and a previous misscarriage 4 years ago concieved as a suprise.

I'm sorry to hear of your miscarriages- sending hugs your way too.

DH's results are coming in next week, so we should know more about his situation by then. I've been reading this also, that stages 3 and 4 are more common with endometriomas. I'm going to speak to my gyno next week regarding AMH levels and deciding whether or not to go for surgery. I guess I'm afraid I'll got for it and it was pointless, or even detrimental (as I have been reading that removing cysts from ovaries can damage them further).

I was also hoping there was more that could be done before IVF but we will see- I may have to get over all of it and just bite the bullet! Thanks for your help

@jng18 I think it sounds sensible to try get you AMH or at least your AFC before deciding, as you have said. I think I would be doing the same if I was in your position. It seems were both similar in that hoping something happens and we don't have to go down the route of IVF! I hope it does for us both but I suppose if IVF gets us our babies then it's so worth it! knowing its the last resort and the emotional side of IVF terrifies me.. All the best and let me know how you get on with chatting to your doctor! X

@Sarahdaydreamer1234 I hope you don’t mind me writing on here but it’s similar to what I’m going through. I just wondered how you got on?

Trying to make this brief. I’ve got a 3 year old I concieved first try when I was 32. When he was 15 months old we TTC baby number 2. Got pregnant that month. We then lost her at 18 weeks in Feb 2021. 😞 we’ve been TTC since and nothing! Since last July I seem to get brown spotting for a whole week before my period. Had thyroid and progesterone checked etc and all fine. Anyway went private January 2022. Paid for a hyterscopy which should of helped the spotting and it didn’t. Got 6 months of clomid and then cyclogest to take after ovuation. No success. I’m wondering if I’ve developed endo? The spotting before my periods, not being able to get pregnant. No other symptoms. Also strange as I’m 36 now and my AMH is 8.4 but follicle count of 22 so it doesn’t match up. Unsure if to go straight for IVF or try a lap? Xx

Hi @loz2467 so sorry for yoir loss and troubke ttc! i concieved the month before my laproscopy was due and have a 10 month old now! So fortunate i know! I actually have no idea if i have endo! I think it was my immune system causing everything to be honest and i researched immunes and took 5mg predisonole after ovulation the month i concieved! Could have been a fluke ill never know! I was also om aspirin progesterone and heparin once pregnant due to the miscarriages..with no other symptoms seems mayne unlikely endo but it can be asymptomatic! Have u tried fertility accupuncture it helps some people and some are very very knowledgeable?

@Sarahdaydreamer1234 congrats! That’s such lovely news to hear and it happening just before your op was scheduled!!!

For me the cyclogest does stop the brown spotting but I’m adamant it’a endo. I must of suddenly got it after my miscarriage and it’s also odd all these things started to happen to my cycle the month I had my covid vaccine which was July 2021. I can’t decide if to have an exploitative lap. Or because I’m nearly 37 if to try IVF for a couple of transfers and see where we are at then. I haven’t even had any chemicals or anything. I just litetally haven’t got pregnant since my miscarriage.

Sarahdaydreamer1234 · 04/12/2022 20:49

@loz2467 ah its so hard to know i feel for u! the thing is with the lap you might have to wait ages on nhs do you know how long the waiting list is in your area? .. I take it you'll have to go private for IVF? If money is no issue id probably go down that road personally unless you could gey a lap down in less than 6 months!

@Sarahdaydreamer1234 it really is so hard I’ve spent weeks and months scrolling the internet wondering about my brown spotting and why I can’t get pregnant again etc. it’s such an odd feeling after getting pregnant easily twice. Well I feel pretty gutted to be honest because I’ve been on the NHS waiting list for it since Jan. got a phone call in July with a cancellation and I was on holiday which is just typical! Anyway I’ve just found out I’m covered on my health insurance through work but all my IVF is ready to go in the new year. Just need my screening and then my meds ordering. The financial and emotional stress is hard! But I don’t want to get to 45 and wish we had tried it. I’d rather try than not at all I think! My dr dismisses endo but I know brown spotting before period is a big sign of it.
