Hi I'm just wondering if anyone is or has been through the same experience as me I had went nearly 2 years no period (after stopping the pill)I finally got the courage to talk to someone about my problems went to the doctors start of December they wanted me to get my bloods done so once I did that the rang me I thought it was my results they told me I needed to go back in for another lot as they needed more blood I did that they rang me week after and told me I had high prolactin and I'd need a mri they said February is the soonest I would be seen I went for my mri Tuesday they said I'd get my results within 2 weeks I was wondering what medication are they likely to give me ? And can you get pregnant on them/if so how soon ? I'm so nervous I just don't know what to expect has anyone had, going through or know much about high prolactin would mean a lot if you could comment or message me 😔!

Hi @Coco12ha I don't really know a lot about prolactin but the clinic I'm at also wanted to test for it as mine was high last August a couple of months after my 4th miscarriage. The clinic tested again and it was absolutely fine. The consultant told me it's linked to high levels of stress so if you've been stressed it can cause high prolactin. I guess she was right as it was a stressful time. Is it worth you having it checked again? I did ask what would happen if it was high and consultant said an mri scan and meds but it didn't mean i wouldn't be able to have ivf xx

@Coco12ha the medication for high prolactin is cabergoline and it works within a matter of weeks and you can TTC straight away whilst taking it. It is a very easy issue to fix.
