Anybody would like to share experiences with care fertility London for undergoing IVF. I am 40+ and thinking to start IVF treatment. I am totally confused to chose the clinics in London. If anybody could share their experiences @ care fertility along with the price please.

Hi, I did IVF through Care, but through my private fertility specialist so the process wasn’t entirely with Care, just the egg collection/embryo transfer. They seemed very good to me, the embryologist was great and kept me really well informed of the development of the embryos. And they eventually got me pregnant, and I now have a miracle little girl! My specialist is called Adrian Lower, he no longer works with Care, instead he is with IVI on Wimpole Street. I haven’t used IVI but I hear they have state of the art treatments, so worth checking out. I would be with IVI if we did another IVF cycle, so that I could stick with Mr Lower (they treat over 40s).

I did IVF with Care London and I am 42 yrs old and 25 weeks pregnant with a girl who is passing all the tests.
It took me 4 cycles and 3 miscarriages to get here with unexplained infertility.
They were great though. I have one doctor I really liked Anna Carby who had the right mix of empathy and sensibility when things didn't work out. She would take the time to explain why she recommended certain things in protocol and was open if I wanted to try any changes in my protocol just to see if they worked. And a nurse Booky who hugged me when I miscarried and cried. So I would just try to get my favourite doctor when I made appointments etc.
The clinic is very professional and I always felt in safe hands.

If there are any questions you want to ask specifically I can answer.
We used BUPA insurance which had some package prices , but the regular prices can be found on their website.

@Violet180
I was looking at this thread and I recognised your name. We have 'spoken' a few times privately in the past...
I have just read your amazing news. I am absolutely delighted for you. Congratulations to you and your partner. Such wonderful news SmileFlowers

Oh hi! Thank you so much, we are thrilled. I hadn't been on this forum in a long time, I dropped off after a miscarriage. But everyone was so supportive on here.

I've just turned 40 and we're looking into private treatment, my partner has 3 children from one past relationship and I'm going to be first time mum. Very scary but feeling positive. Many private clinics so any tips would be great. I think as an over thinker I need to just relax and let things happen! Thanks in advance xx

Hi wannabemummy40! I did IVF at 40. I would say, throw everything at it from the beginning. I wanted to start softly softly, minimal drugs etc, when it came to implanting the embryos. I lost 3 embryos (single transfers) before throwing the kitchen sink at my uterus, and finally got my baby girl! I'm convinced it was the steroids that helped, as well as the acupuncture which was brilliant at keeping me in a positive headspace, along with keeping me calm. For best results start acupuncture before you even begin on egg collection (though I didn't), it's one of the few (if not the only?) complementary therapies that has been researched, and with statistical proof that it helps with IVF. Only a little, but every little bit counts! It's not an easy journey, and those who haven't been through it often don't understand, but just remember to laugh at yourself if you go a bit bananas! This website, along with Fertility Friends, was invaluable at keeping me sane. Good luck! xx

Hi Violet,

Congratulations on your pregnancy. Hope you are well? You said you used BUPA insurance which had some package prices, what do you mean?
I have a Bupa insurance, and wondering if they would cover anything? Many thanks

Violet180 · 17/02/2021 11:06

Hi Pinkypie2020,
My BUPA plan covered fertility treatment, but it's best just to call BUPA and ask them if you are covered.
I am really well and excited as I am being induced on 25th of Feb. So happy to be able to meet my little girl.
