Laparoscopy, ovarian drilling- Clomid next??

Hello

I’ve posted before with other Qs but recap I’m 27, have PCOS, TTC 17.5 months. Very irregular cycles, and pelvic pain.

I had a laparoscopy and hysteroscopy on 15 October. My cycle started that morning just before the surgery (unlucky!)

Diagnosed adenomyosis, confirmed existing PCOS diagnosis, lasered a couple of adhesions abs performed ovarian diathermy to try and assist with ovulation.

I’m currently on cycle day 20. Have been doing ovulation tests for the past 10 days and not a hint of a positive :(

I’ve never in my life had a positive ovulation test but bloods indicate I do ovulate apparently.

Has anyone had any luck with ovulating after the ovarian drilling/diathermy? How long does it take?

I have my follow up next week and wondering should I ask for Clomid straight away (consultant has hinted at it before but wanted surgery out of the way first).

I’m still in pain following the op- thought it was ovulation pain but clearly not,

Thanks

I can give you a positive story! I had a laparoscopy with ovarian drilling due to fertility issues. Diagnosed with PCOS and mild endometriosis. I had a period straight after and then didn’t have another as I fell pregnant! But, when I had to work out my due date, we discovered that I actually ovulated around day 30. So although the drilling made me ovulate, it was still later than ‘normal’. This cycle was the only time I ever experienced ovulation pain which prompted us to jump into bed Grin The result was my 14 yr old!!! At that time I was also very strict with doing my BBT every morning, and sure enough the temperature rise followed this pain.

When I had ttc for 3 years after my Ds, I was offered drilling again. This time I used a clear blue ovulation machine and I definitely ovulated for at least 6 months following but unfortunately we had semen issues which we didn’t know about so had no success.

So, both times the drilling made me ovulate successfully. Wishing you the best of luck xx

@AddictedToCrisps thanks so much for your reply and for giving me hope!

I’m currently having a lot of pain abs can’t decipher post op pain from anything else (Adeno pain or ovulation!) but we are dtd every other day now until my period comes I think! Don’t want to miss this opportunity!

The only handy thing about AF arriving on the morning of surgery is it will be a good way of remembering/ timing things if we need to.

I never usually use them but I’m doing ovulation tests each morning- is that a good thing do you think? I just want this to happen! You’ve given me hope x

I had no pain after about 7 days following the laparoscopies so I’m surprised you are still feeling sore. But there could be a number of reasons for it. Yes, I definitely think you should do either ovulation tests or temperature recording for the next few cycles. But dtd every other day can’t do any harm! Good luck!
