Hi everyone

I'm really just looking for some advice/hear some similar stories (and hopefully happy endings)

I've always wanted children however I have never fallen pregnant. I've had 2 serious relationships previously and we had unprotected sex incredibly frequently, at least every other day, for years.

I have a 28 day cycle, I have tracked my CM and other symptoms and I ovulate day 14. My periods aren't awfully painful, normally just the first day, and they're not what I would class as heavy either, lasting for around 4 days.

STI checked and have always been all clear.

I'm healthy weight and lifestyle wise also.

Both of my ex partners have gone on to have children and I'm honestly not sure what's wrong with me. I have a doctors appointment booked in for 3 weeks time to start discussing this as I'm aware I'm not getting any younger and really need answers ASAP.

I would really appreciate hearing other similar stories. Your experiences with doctors/testing etc and what the reason for you infertility was and the treatment options available?

I've seen many reasons for example endometriosis etc but I really don't have any of the symptoms.

Thank you all in advance x

Hey lovely,

I have some similarities to you, except I have been pregnant twice before when I was younger. I'm 28 now but fell pregnant when 16 and also when 20 - first resulted in miscarriage and second was an abortion (which I regret with all my heart now - I fell in love with an American however who ended up being the worst cheat and it was just an awful situation).

I've been with my partner for almost 7 years now and never used conception and nothing has happened. We have been tested, he has 1% morphology but other than that is fine. I'm the same as you and have 28 day cycles and not so heavy periods but still enough. I have a feeling that may be part of the issue now.
We're due our top of the list appointment for IVF 26th of this month.

It's worth getting the tests done now. We're still a good age for these things but it's best to find out sooner than later. They will get you to do a blood test on 'day 21' to confirm you ovulate and they might try other tests too.

Wishing you lots of luck, if there is anything I can help with I will try my best

Be prepared for never getting any answers I started TTC in 2013 and eventually had IVF in 2018. We had various tests none of which showed any identifiable issues other than 1 blocked tube which was removed and shouldn't have caused total infertility but yet still during that time I never had a hint of a BFP so we progressed to IVF which again didn't pick anything up but thankfully was successful and my DD was born March last year. My periods came back in August last year and we didn't use contraception planning on using our frozen embryo later on this year but last month out of the blue I got a BFP and I'm currently 6 weeks pregnant. So in all honesty 7 years in and I'm still non the wiser.
Good luck

Are you currently ttc? If not, i personally wouldn't expect the nhs to do much... just as artfulscreamer suggested, there often aren't explanations anyway. Just set some realistic expectations.
