Emperical care

Hi everyone I've had 8 consecutive miscarriages and I've had all the tests nhs can offer even my internal scans came back normal they now said on my next positive pregnancy test to offer me emperical care but does anyone know what this means ? I've tried progesterone and asprin but not worked I'm at a loss as to what this all means 🤷‍♀️ has anyone been through anything similar to me and had this outcome in a little confused right now tia :)

I think it just means they "wing" it or I suppose you might say "clinical guess" - they treat you based on what they might think/their experience etc rather than any scientific evidence to say with certain what they should be doing
Or what treatment you should have?

They might try clexane blood thinning injections progesterone injections rather than suppositories or prednisolone steroids - or all of them together!

It's usually medication that either has no evidence to be of benefit or it's not clinically indicated based on your history. It's given on a 'just in case' basis. Often blood thinners, IM progesterone, steroids, aspirin etc, although likely no steroids at the mo due to Covid
