CAremaps / embryoscope grading?

Anyone had a cycle at care and their blasts got a score of 1-10? Do you know what this means I forgot to ask ! And what was your outcome :)

Hi, I used care maps for my trio stim. We got six blasts. I'm just waiting to hear the outcome of the caremaps. Doing a FET in Feb x

@Cream123 yes, I had my embryos in the embryoscope incubator with caremaps. They are monitored 24 hours a day and how they grow and move is compared to previous data to give the embryos a score out of 10, 10 is the best.

The embryologist can then give you a chance of a live birth based on the score for each embryo. My best embryo has a 46% chance of resulting in a live birth. Interestingly my least viable embryo which was a 2,3 with traditional scoring had a caremaps score of 8/10 and a live birth chance of 36%. Because I reacted to progesterone we had to transplant the least viable embryo in the fresh cycle which was unsuccessful, but it’s good to know I’ll hopefully be having a better chance with the most viable embryo on the next cycle.

Make sure you ask the embryologist to give you the standard grading, care maps grade and chance of success for each of your embryos when you speak to them.

@Gardenlady543 that's interesting, thank you. I've only been given a caremaps score, I didn't know they could give a percentage too.

Sorry your latest transfer wasn't a success.

Gardenlady543 · 07/01/2021 15:31

@seven201 someone in the November IVF thread mentioned that the embryologist always has the percentage chance to hand and if you ask them they’ll tell you, so I asked away!

Thanks for the kind words, everything went well in my cycle up until I started reacting to progesterone, I ended up with 9 blastocytes, I have 8 frozen and the plan is for a FET this month. So fingers crossed things will go better this time, I’m apprehensive about being on progesterone again though.

@Gardenlady543 best of luck. That's promising that they're trying the progesterone again then and assuming it was a random one off. Really hope so for you.

I had a freeze all in November as I had mild ohss and just been told I have to wait until March to have the transfer! I'm pretty gutted about that.

Thanks for the replies that’s interesting and not sure wot to make of it now
I had 2 scoring 10/10 and 1 9/10 and 1 8/10
All 2.2 all 4 blasts

I did pgs on them and my 2 10/10 were abnormal and binned! So I have the 9 and 8 left now....does this mean they are not great quality despite being normal chromosomally? May ring embryologist and ask

@seven201 ah it’s gutting that you have to wait until March but hopefully it should give your body a good chance to heal.

@Cream123 your remaining embryos are very good! This is the good thing about the caremaps technology, the traditional scoring would indicate that they’re ok embryos but not fantastic, but the care maps score indicates that they’re really good, and that’s based on a lot of data. So at first glance my 2,3 embryo didn’t look great but the embryologist was thrilled with it because it got a 8/10. It’s really good that you got the PGT-A, because those wouldn’t have worked out and you would have been falsely reassured with the grading you were given originally.
