BMI limit for Clomid?

Hi all

Has anyone had any experience with being told that there is a BMI limit for clomid/metformin etc?

Not sure if there's a general rule or if it varies from GP to GP.

Hey,
I think NHS clinics like to see a BMI below 30 for any interventions. Most private clinics will say under 35. That's my experience. Like everything though I suspect it will come down to your CCG and their own rules.

My GP did not prescribe Clomid, I was referred to the fertility clinic who prescribed it.
I have seen some clinics say the BMI limit is 35 but you'd need to check with whoever is prescribing it to you, private tend to be more flexible than NHS.
Some clinics will say that losing weight on its own might restart ovulation without the need for medication (assuming you mean upper BMI limit, there may be a lower limit if someone is very underweight that can also affect ovulation) .
