Top IVF doctor in London?

So we have both low sperm count and low AMH. Need to start looking into IVF.

We are waiting for an appointment with Mr Ramsey for my DH but who would be the best person in London for me to see? either just for treatment to get eggs up to scratch or for IVF in general.

TG finance is not an issue just want whoever is most likely to help me/us.

Thanks

I read a lot about CRGH when I was looking at clinics. From what I understand there is a lot more monitoring and individualisation of treatment which would mean more appointments. However it does get very good results. With low amh it’s important to use a clinic which treats you accordingly and not a one size fits all treatment.

Hi OP, there are many good clinics in London, and for most someone will tell you a positive experience and someone else will say it was bad. A friend had a pretty shabby experience at the Lister yet it has a good reputation.
Search through the threads here about clinics.

You may have low AMH but good quality eggs.

@Betsyboo87 I'm not sure if instead of CRGH you mean ARGC the clinic sometimes referred to as IVF bootcamp as it has pretty intensive methods.
CRGH is just a 'regular' clinic, whatever that is!

@JeNeBaguetteRien yes you’re right! Sorry op it’s ARGC I’m thinking of

Just looked up argc as had never heard of it. The reviews of it are dire...

Check out the hfea website. It has facts.

Remember that you'll only ever read two kinds of reviews: glowing or awful. No middle ground - those people don't bother with reviews.

If I'd paid £20k for a failed cycle at argc, I'd be pretty annoyed.

Bells3032 · 08/09/2020 09:35

It's not the annoyed ones. even the ones that have conceived seem pretty awful - brush doctors, long wait periods and they've been subject to a number of police raids and even a panarama investigation

We are considering ARGC for our next cycle. There is a thread on it here from Irish fertility forum - lots of women told donor eggs got their positive.

In particular this comment from someone who went on to get a BFP but hadn’t gotten results at times of posting.

“ My main reason for commenting is to say no matter what the outcome next Thursday, this has been by far the most positive experience I’ve had with IVF. The level of care you get in ARGC is disappointingly not available in Ireland in my experience. Yes it comes with a very big price tag but we almost spent as much on our 2 cycles in Ireland and were told after those that our best option was donor eggs where as ARGC have a host of treatments and my response and overall well-being has been drastically better than during the Irish cycles.

Having spoken to patients in ARGC, the treatment provided in fee paying clinics in Ireland seems to be equivalent to what is proved free by the NHS in the UK- so fairly basic, generic protocols and no real understanding of what the issues were at the end of a failed cycle and minimal monitoring.

So if anyone out there is feeling like you’ve run out of options, maybe do what we did and just take out a loan and be done with it but it’s definitely worth giving ARGC a go. ”

@Bells3032 I should have said we are same as you. Low sperm count initial reason for doing ivf and then I responded terribly even though my AMH was fine - I clearly have egg quality issues. We’ve done 3 rounds so far. We are also not constrained by finances and we’ve already spent €24k on ivf in Ireland so we are thinking we will go one more round with ARGC and then move onto donor eggs
