OHSS

Hi ladies

Can I ask if you were unfortunate enough to suffer from OHSS, what was your AFC and AMH prior to IVF starting? What were the first signs of it for you? I'm at risk and want to see how much at risk I am and what to keep an eye out for. TIA

My AFC was 5/6 and AMH 8.2. I guess very low risk. IVF was successful and currently at 11 weeks but ovaries were picked up as very enlarged on my 7 week scan and still are. No pain. But lots of pain and bloating during the actual IVF process that wasn’t seen as OHSS.

Congrats @BabySweet85 - was this your first IVF cycle?

Yes first cycle!

@BabySweet85 amazing! We're trying to decide whether to just go for one cycle or buy the package of 2 or 3 cycles. I'm 39 and fall just outside the NHS funding in our area.

Hi @MF1981 I was also at risk of OHSS. I don’t know what my AFC was but my AMH was 78.
I managed to avoid OHSS by drinking a LOT of water and upping my protein intake. But ultimately it was a freeze all round, which I think was for the best. During stims I had daily blood tests and my estradiol levels were through the roof so I think it’s very likely I would have gone on to develop OHSS if I’d have had a successful fresh transfer.

Hope everything works out well for you and you can avoid OHSS x

Thanks @HavingFaith - my AMH was 65.7 so just on the borderline of high risk.
