Waiting but in agony... what do do next?!

Hello

I have posted a few months ago but didn’t get any responses, fairly new to this.

TTC 15 months now. Fertility referral gone through I’ve had initial tests, AMH (came back high- though I have PCOS so I’m not surprised), we’ve had one tele appointment with Dr re initial test and hubby has had his SA done.

Fertility clinic said they’d put me on waiting list for a laparoscopy to investigate things. Still heard nothing and husband can’t get SA results until we have another appointment (again waiting list and no idea how long)

I had a private scan done in the meantime due to pain I’m in, and I have a 5cm cyst with”blood products” which is suspected endometrioma, PCOS, irregular cycles and I’m in terrible pain.

I was seeing a Private gynae re pain and due to see him again mid sept re the cyst (and a further scan)

I’m in agony again this week. 44 days still no period and no sign (other than the pain im in).

We aren’t even DTD at the mo because it’s painful and feels like a complete waste of time.

Having a baseline scan early sept but may have to cancel as it won’t be right time in cycle (I’d need to come on before this Monday for it to fall right).

Can anyone point me in the right direction?

Fertility appts seem very very slow but I can’t live with all this uncertainty/ pain whilst fertility stuff is back up and running.

Should I be asking my private gynae to do a laparoscopy? He has mentioned possible Adenomyosis and endometriosis and I feel this should be sorted out asap anyway.

Sorry for the essay but I’m getting fed up, frustrated and upset!

You poor thing! I think you’ve got a couple of options - either book the next available appointment with your private Gynaecologist, or if you want to go via the NHS you should be able to been seen urgently - your GP can refer you to an EPU which often doubles as an emergency gynaecology unit who would deal with painful cysts etc. Or some allow you to self refer. Could you google your local hospital to see if they offer this service? Where are you based? Or you could try to get a telephone appointment with your GP? Good luck, I hope you get the help you need. Being in pain is horrible and should be sorted ASAP x

@bicyclesandbeyond thank you for your reply- I hadn’t seen it/been alerted

Update is my cyst has gone but I’m still in pain 10 days later! No sign of AF either (day 55 now...)
My gynae is on leave but I have a follow up with him next week thank goodness.

I have my baseline scan tomorrow so will see what is said at that.

Had t thought of EPU and referring that way when in extreme pain- I will do that next time. I suspect the intense pain was the cyst bursting and now I’m just waiting for AF!

Thank you for your help

@Fro93
Pleased to hear your cyst has gone - I think when they burst it’s a bit like having a bruise on your ovary so there can be residual pain for some weeks. Good luck with your scan tomorrow and Gynae follow up! X
