I'm so scared!
Please can anyone help me calm down ... has anyone else been referred to the fertility clinic and what happened??

2 years I have been try to get pregnant and no luck. I have had blood tests it came back that I am ovulating all is normal. My partner has had a sperm test and everything has came back fine for him too.

The doctor has made an appointment to refer us to the fertility clinic so we are waiting for that appointment to come through.

If we have tested normal what else could be the problem?

Xxx

I was really nervous too but honestly it’s nothing to worry about. I had mine back in February pre-Covid but didn’t get all my tests done before the lockdown.

At my initial consultation they asked for mine and DP’s medical histories, our TTC history, period details etc.

We then had to book in for some more blood tests (I had already had some via the GP and DP a sperm analysis which the consultant agreed were fine). I was also asked to book in for a transvaginal scan ( don’t worry about this - it’s not even as bad as a smear) and an HSG.

The HSG was a bit painful but the cramping was over quite quickly and I was in and out of the hospital within 30 minutes including being told about the procedure, producing a urine sample, waiting for them to test it and getting undressed/dressed. The nurses were so nice and chatty and really put me at ease.

We’ve just been told we can move on to IVF due to me having low ovarian reserve for my age (34) and a couple of fibroids. The technician did tell me what she had found at the scan back in March so I’ve had plenty of time to get my head around the fact that I’d probably need IVF. So many have been through it multiple times so I’m sure it’s not as bad as we all imagine. Im also glad that we can now move onto the next stage after 3+ years of trying.

I’m more worried about the cost as we only get one round on the NHS and I’m being realistic about the fairly low chance of first time success.
