5% chance?

I'm 40 and have a 2 year old I conceived naturally. We've been ttc number 2 since he was 6 months old. I've had 2 miscarriages since then.

My FSH jumps around between 10 and 20 over the past 6 months I've had it tested. My AMH is 8.93 which is low end of normal apparently.

I seen a recurrent miscarriage specialist today and she said with my high FSH and my age my change of having a baby naturally is just 5%! Is this right?

Hi I have similar stats and am also 40 and I've been told 20%. I haven't had any miscarriages but I've had no positive pregnancy tests either. That 20% is per cycle not per transfer. Maybe they meant per transfer? I think that's lower.

The way I see it the chances of a positive outcome are low, but they'd be even lower if I didn't do ivf! Mine is an nhs round though.

I’m just 37 and also have a 2 year old who was conceived easily. Low AMH (6.3) and high (ish) FSH (highest at 12) and I was given 5% chance of natural pregnancy too.
I’m getting a second opinion but maybe it’s right?! I’m starting IVF in Oct if I haven’t fallen pregnant by then. It’s so difficult to hear. I haven’t had any miscarriages but haven’t had a BFP either...

It took us a year to conceive my son and a year between miscarriages too.

I asked her if she meant 5% chance per cycle but I don't know her answer as she's not a native English speaker and it's even harder to communicate with a mask on.

I spoke to my husband and he said he will do IVF for me. I had a look at my clinics stats and for my age the success rate is 12% per cycle. So higher that natural I guess.
