Hi. I am 40 and been ttc for 2 years. Already got a DD who is almost 3 and she took a long time to arrive. Last two years we manage to conceive and implant and get a bfp day before and of period, then my period starts, cramping and the bfp goes. Referred myself to private clinic as nhs takes too long and only thing they recommend is to take DHEA and plan for ivf. Has anybody been in similar situation? Why would IVF work if we can conceive just not able to have a successful and long implantation? Thanks

@SleepEatPoopRepeat in light of your CPs I'd ask them to test your thyroid and do mini thrombophilia screen before doing treatment.

They aim to collect several eggs and put the best embryo back. They also completely take over your cycle - they will be checking that your lining is the optimum thickness and appearance. They can give you drugs to help thicken it if necessary. And then they'll be giving you luteal support (progesterone pessaries and sometimes injections).

@threesecrets I just wanted to let you know as you were also in same boat as me...that I took DHEA and first month of taking, I got to 10 weeks but sadly lost baby due to chromosomal problem. I then took it again for 2 months and I’m now 16 weeks pregnant. It maybe a fluke but I seem to have got past the 4 week chemicals taking it. I did also take 200mg ubiquinol from Holland and Barrett and some baby aspirin. Hope this helps
