FET Covid-19 Delay - stick with clinic or go elsewhere?

Hi ladies,

Wondering if anyone is in a similar situation or if you can offer any advice...

Following IVF last year, DH and I had our consultation in January and were booked in to undergo our first FET this June. Once the lockdown happened we fully expected treatment to be delayed but I didn't quite expect there to be so much uncertainty over if/when it would actually go ahead.

I've phoned our clinic each month with my Day 1. The first time I called I was told that I definitely wouldn't be seen until September at the very earliest. That seemed fair enough. However, the second time I called the party line changed completely and the nurse would not give us even the slightest hint as to when treatment may go ahead, refusing to say whether September was feasible or not. So we're completely in limbo. I totally understand that this situation is unprecedented and we don't mind waiting as such, but the lack of clarity about when our FET could happen is driving me mad.

I have friends who have started their treatment cycles at private clinics and there appears to be no delay to their treatment. Ours is based in an NHS hospital but we are paying for the treatment.

Is anyone in a similar situation?

We're in a dilemma as it seems that a second wave is fairly likely and so that could delay treatment at our current clinic even further...So we're wondering whether to go to a new fertility clinic and undergo another complete cycle of IVF. The thought of a full round is slightly gruelling to me, but ultimately we just want to maximise our changes of getting a BP!

WWYD??

Any advice would be much appreciated!

Could you not transfer your embryo(s) first?
If there is further disruption then staff from NHS clinics may be redeployed elsewhere.

I would push your clinic first to tell you which month you were put on the waiting list and which month they are currently seeing. Put this in writing to the clinic director on PALs if you need to.

There is no sense starting a full cycle until you have a clear picture.

We were in a similar position failed fresh transfer in March waiting for a FET and were told so many different things. I am on the meds now ready for an Aug transfer.

It must be difficult for the clinic having everyone frequently contacting the,.
