Just wondering if anyone is in the same boat as me??

I went through IVF after TTC for 9yrs
Used clomid which in the end worked :)
But I split up with the dad when I was 4months pregnant ...
met my new partner when I was 5months (wasn’t planned) ... fast forward ..

I have a 1yr 8month old boy now
But I’ve been TTC since he was 5months old and nothing :( I just wondered if I can go straight to the doctors and have Clomid prescribed as It worked with the 1st pregnancy? Or would I have to go through the whole IVF situation again as it’s a new partner???? Help please ....

You aren't eligible for NHS treatment for infertility once you already have a child

I've have a child and am currently receiving nhs fertility treatment. I've been on clomid but it didn't work. They've also said we can try both clomid and metformin. Now on metformin for pcos. I know ivf isn't funded on nhs if you already have a child but I think you'd be able to have clomid again?

Ahhh okay, I will look into it then :)
I was gunna order some off the net but scared just Incase they don’t contain the right stuff like hospital ones x

For me clomid was quite strong and I only had 50mg, bloated quite bad and had bad ovulation pains. I wouldn't order any off the net tbh as your first month they are meant to scan you to see how you're responding. It's quite a powerful drug. I would approach your gp and ask about a referral or maybe they might prescribe clomid themselves considering you've already had it before? But they may want to investigate further

Yeah I’m gunna ring the doctors and see what they suggest, obviously with this going on I can’t see anyone but maybe yes they can prescribe them as I’ve had them before..
yeah they effect people differently, when I took mine before I went to sleep I had no side effects.

But one good thing I came on AF yesterday really heavy , first time since having my son so that was shocking x

It's worth asking !! But maybe as it's a new partner they might want to investigate to see if it's either one of you before prescribing medications.
Wow that's a long time not to have a period! So you have pcos or anything?

Chrissy338 · 01/05/2020 13:04

Yeah I got PCOS :( got told I might never have kids unless I had help x

I have pcos also, I have a 5 year old so don't give up hope! My consultant did say he was probably just pure luck but it still proves it can happen without medication etc.

Aww that’s brilliant :)
No I won’t give up x thank you
