Has anyone’s fertility clinic told them they will close due to Coronavirus? I’m due to start treatment and now confused as what to do or whether I’ll be able to start. Thanks.

Fantastic @ivfgottostaypositive! Fingers tightly crossed for both of us and everyone else wishing you all the luck! 🌈🌈

bunhead34 · 18/05/2020 17:03

@Waitingformyrainbow2020 that's great news!

I had a phone appointment today and am okay to go ahead with medicated FET too. All going well I should be starting meds around the 1st June on CD 1.

Waitingformyrainbow2020 · 18/05/2020 17:24

Oh that's great news @bunhead34 I'm so pleased for you and I have my fingers crossed for you 😊 🌈

HJF84 · 18/05/2020 20:14

@ivfgottobepositive I'm due in a week too, but I've just started taking ubinqinol, and I've heard it delays ovulation so it could be longer than that.

Being able to go through this lockdown is one positive. I'm working from home, with minimal stresses. I'm hoping for some good ol' eggs 🥚

ivfgottostaypositive · 18/05/2020 20:36

@HJF84

I started ubquinol before the 1st of my 3 cycles in January - it didn't delay anything with either that cycle or the next one but I did have a really late cycle of 40 days when I was due for my 3rd cycle but I had been doing them back to back without a period in between so it was only a matter of time before my body needed a break. After that 40 day cycle I went back to my normal 29 day one and have been on ubquinol now for 5 months x

Xx40yearsyoungxx · 18/05/2020 21:16

That’s interesting @HJF84, that you mention delayed ovulation - I’ve taking ubiquinol for about a month now and believe I ovulated about a week and a half later than I thought I should?

Has anyone else noticed delayed ovulation with ubiquinol? Any good/ bad experiences? Does anyone think this did really help ?

HJF84 · 19/05/2020 08:08

@Xx40yearsyoungxx I'm not really tracking my cycles anymore, but I think I ovulated this weekend, which would be day 16 or 17. I'm not 100% confident, but I exercise quite a lot and I noticed on saturday and Sunday that my workout sessions were easier, but Monday was harder, which is consistent with my luteal phase starting. My period is due next Monday - so I'll let you know!

@ivfgottobepositive My third cycle on the three cycle package wasn't any longer than usual, and I did them back to back as well, so it could be the ubinqiniol, I was only taking vitamin d and folic acid on those cycles.

thefishthatcouldwish · 19/05/2020 16:43

Feeling quite fed up today. The clinic for me is now open and some people are starting to start medication.

I haven't heard a dickybird

mabel92 · 19/05/2020 18:16

I’m also feeling frustrated. My clinic has been open for 5 days now, I emailed asking if I could start my treatment again, I then received a reply 4x days later saying I have to be patient and wait for them to get in touch with me.

All I want to know is when my treatment will start. Even if its months away. Its getting me so down the lack of knowing.

Hoping1 · 19/05/2020 18:51

@thefishthatcouldwish thats how I feel mine havnt even applied yet but only told me because I rang xxx

Lemongrass1 · 20/05/2020 12:26

Had a video consult today and am booked for a Prostap injection early June. Transfer probably early July. Was hoping to do a shorter cycle but they are only offering long protocol at the moment. It was clear at the appointment that they are still working out how they are going to manage things. I suspect there will be a lot of teething problems while they try to work out social distancing. Has anyone else managed to get hold of their clinic for news on when they can start? I have my fingers crossed that everyone gets some good news soon. xx

Xx40yearsyoungxx · 20/05/2020 13:18

Hi all

Just wondering if anyone had tried an endo-scratch and whether people think it’s worth it?

On a long protocol, my understanding is that it is performed on day 21? When is it performed on a short protocol?

I’m still waiting for cycle day 1 to arrive but was reading up on ‘additional techniques’ that pre Covid were available ( not sure this would still be available now?)

X

CritterTamer · 20/05/2020 13:28

@xx40yearsyoungxx I had an endo scratch for my last (successful) ivf cycle. I swear it made a difference as I've never had so much as a chemical pregnancy throughout years of trying until that cycle with the scratch - then boom - twins! Given that we had a100% fertilisation rate and good percentage of day 5 blasts on both our ivf cycles it would seem that I should at least be achieving chemicals /miscarriages naturally unless there is a problem with implantation too.
Im currently waiting for CD1 due 1st or 2nd of June to book in for an endo scratch prior to FET in July - there's no way I would cycle without the scratch now even though it adds another month to the treatment. It's done between day 19 and 24 of the cycle before your transfer, even on short protocol. Mine is done on day 19 because I have a short luteal phase.

Xx40yearsyoungxx · 20/05/2020 13:47

@crittertamer - that’s really interesting

I’m due CD1 in a few days, and will be ok short protocol so I’m guessing I’m too late ......

Xx40yearsyoungxx · 20/05/2020 13:47
  • on I think I have a short luteal phase too
MrsLouB · 20/05/2020 13:59

im due tomorrow and will be starting meds Friday fingers crossed my clinic where quiet good at getting everything set up for a just encase they opened in time for this cycle. ha[[y but apprehensive now too

Xx40yearsyoungxx · 20/05/2020 14:21

Ps @CritterTamer - massive congratulations on the twins 👯‍♂️

PositiveThinkerAlways · 20/05/2020 15:15

For those of you who may not follow Zita West on Instagram she has been doing live videos on different aspects of the IVF process which have been really interesting and helpful (I’ve learnt more through these sessions than at any appointment I’ve had at my clinic!) and the next live video is on today at 4pm, which is about nutrition during IVF.

positivevibe01 · 20/05/2020 16:06

I just got a call from my clinic (NHS funded), they said that they are working out how to get people in safe etc so they are looking at July for FET. And in order to minimise the amount of times we have to be in the clinic, they are doing all of them as medicated FET so they have better control of timing. I was really hoping to transfer in June. But it's better to know a rough timing than waiting in limbo.

mabel92 · 20/05/2020 16:47

That’s great so many of you are getting answers, I’m still waiting and still being told to wait.

@Xx40yearsyoungxx thank you! Shockingly they are now 12 months old! We have 2 frosties left from that cycle so really hoping to be lucky enough for one more 🤞

My private clinic (CRGW in Wales) has lent some space out to the NHS and they are refusing to leave until mid - June so we're unable to restart our cancelled cycle until then, and the need for a scratch means July for the FET but at least we have a plan now.

It's great to see so many people getting to restart treatment now - hopefully we will all get there soon xxx

thefishthatcouldwish · 20/05/2020 18:09

@critter thats so frustrating but it will come round and like you say you have a plan which is good.

lAll I want is to know is when my treatment will start am too scared to phone the clicnic. I dunno why.

ivfgottostaypositive · 21/05/2020 10:04

Morning all - I've Started spotting today which is about 4 days early in my cycle so I think cycle day 1 will be Saturday - clinic confirmed protocol again this morning so looks like I'm good to go 😬

Bit anxious as the last time my cycle started this early we had to abandon the IVF because I wasn't responding and ended up with a 40 day cycle compared to 29

mabel92 · 22/05/2020 11:38

Has everyone heard from their clinic?
