Feeling wiped out between egg collection and transfer

Anyone else experienced this? I have zero energy following EC on Monday. I don’t know if it’s my body recovering from the minor procedure, or the change of drugs (now on progesterone suppositories)

I’m wanting to be in good nick for my transfer on Saturday and really feel like I should go for a walk in the fresh air but all I feel like doing is sleeping or Netflix.

It might well be the progesterone. It totally wipes me out. I find the side effects of the progesterone the worst out of all of the drugs. Also don't underestimate the mental toll the EC and following days takes on you - it's tiring for your mind and that reflects in your body sometimes.

As long as you're not showing any signs of infection - OK temperature, generally feeling well etc then I wouldn't worry too much. Just take it easy and be kind to yourself :) Good luck.

It’s mentally and physically draining - take all the time u need and rest up.

My little embryo started secondary school this year so it seems a life time ago but equally I remember it like yesterday Smile.

I definitely felt like that after egg collection and ended up taking a few days extra off work to recover. I think it's emotionally very taxing, so take care of yourself and don't push yourself to do things you don't want to. That said, a bit of fresh air often did me the world of good so if you can step out, even for 10 or 15 minutes, it might make you feel better.

I think the progesterone also makes you feel a bit sluggish and tired, so that's probably contributing a bit too. If you feel worried about it, do call your clinic or nurse and get their advice and help, they are the experts and it will set your mind at ease.

It's really all a very exhausting process so it's no surprise you feel knackered out. Take care of yourself and remember there are options to defer to a frozen transfer if you don't feel up to it immediately. Your health is the most important thing so you shouldn't feel bad for prioritising that.

Thanks all. It’s reassuring to hear I’m not alone. I think I’ve been getting through the last 4-6 weeks on adrenaline and now the eggs are gone...I’m feeling the comedown.

Have taken a few days off work so I will try and get as much R&R as possible.
