IVF meds and concentration / motivation

Just wondering if anyone else really struggles with the medication and managing work (and basically managing to give a monkey's about doing any work whilst at work!)

I have had two FET in the last couple of months, following freeze all cycle (first one). I found the cycle itself fine. But the cyclogest and estrogen pills/patches seem to knock me for six. After the first FET failed I came off the meds and suddenly started being uber productive at work again. Sadly after 2 weeks or so, I was back on the meds and back to this bleugh feeling. Second FET appears at the moment to have worked, so I guess it's all worth it, but not sure how I'll be able to keep up another 6 weeks of this lethargy. Anyone else feel this way? It's like I have zero focus or drive to finish anything whatsover.

Yep this is me basically! My mind is all over the place as is my concentration, l think it’s a combination of the medication and emotionally lots going on. Not really sure what to suggest? I would Iove to take some annual leave but l can’t. My focus and drive are shot, not helped by me being a bit sick of the job anyway!

Yup. Cba. Although I felt a lot worse on the pill Confused

Cba is exactly right. Glad it’s not just me then 😱

Same! I don’t know if it’s the meds or that work seems to insignificant compared to something like IVF! I admit I’ve been very unproductive this past year in general!!

Work indeed seems insignificant.... and yet, absolutely necessary to keep job and do well if going to be able to pay medical bills, mortgage, and get the maternity pay I've been hanging on so bloody long for! So on the one hand I'm painfully aware that it's November, and bonus/promotion gets decided soon, and I should really really pull my finger out, and yet... when it comes to it my eyes just glaze over again! Feel emotionally burnt out.

Have you told your consultant about this? Might warrant a thyroid / iron test

peachesforfree · 05/11/2019 15:35

I haven't mentioned it specifically. It went away the minute I stopped taking the hormones. I am on a thyroid med for subclinical hypothyroid but haven't checked iron. Might be a good idea! Thanks :)
