Hi, I'm very luck that in my job I can book nightshifts of my choosing but I need to do this a month in advance so I'm trying to work out now which nights I should book in November. The 1st is my cd12 the clinic thing egg collection will be between cd13-cd15. It wouldn't matter too much but the clinic is 3 hours away. Sorry jut trying to get my head around it. Which days would you advise I avoid working? Sorry for rambling and thank you to anyone that managed to get through it 😂🙈 x

Hello, have you told your employer about it? Although they’ve said what day your egg collection is sometimes they collect earlier or later depending on egg maturity.

I was expected to hardly get any eggs based on my AMH fsh etc but ended up with 30 follicles incredibly uncomfortable and 2 weeks off work. With the best will in the world it’s really hard to plan - best thing you can do is try guess but inform your employer and be ready to ask the GP for a sick note if needed!

Thank you @hoping2018 I wrote everything down and it looks like I'm going to need two weeks off if I try to just avoid potential dates so I might need to talk to my boss. Was hoping to avoid it but I think your right. I hope your feeling better now. How long ago was your ivf? X

I had cycle one in January 2018 with a bfn, cycle 2 in April/may 2018 and I now have a 7 month old. Hoping to go for number 2 next year with our Frosties.

I was lucky as I work in healthcare and turns out my boss had both children via ivf so I had understanding employers!!

I'm healthcare also @hoping2018 and I'm bank but have to work a certain amount of hours each month. I'm hoping the fact my boss is a nurse means I won't have to explain too much to her 🙈 did you do anything differently on your lucky cycle? X

We surgically removed my husbands sperm!!! I took supplements too and drug dose change but pretty sure it was the SSR! Good luck

You don’t need 2 weeks off straight away. Best thing to do is make yourself available for nightshifts only for the next few months. Then when the egg collection date is provided to you give yourself 3 days. You shouldn’t need any time off for the embryo transfer - in fact it’s suggested by research that normal physical activity may be the best thing in terms of success rates for women without complications.
