Access Fertility

Hello,

We are looking into using Access Fertility for our next round of IVF. We used our one free NHS round which wasn't very successful and now we want to try again. Planning on doing the Two rounds with a 50% refund option if needed. Just wondering if anyone who had used it would recommend it (or not) before we hand over all our money?
Also we want to do the IVF option and if that doesn't work potentially do Icsi if we've are allowed to upgrade. Thanks in advance X

Hi @Misty84 it turned out that my age and my ovarian reserve meant I wasn't eligible for the access scheme. I've since consulted at the Lister and they told me that with my ovarian reserve of 1.2, IVF would benefit me no more than 2 medicated IUIs. I did one but we learned that my lone follicle grows at an insane rate so the meds just made that situation worse. I monitored the following month, saw that I had another single speeding follicle but because we were moving areas I decided not to proceed with treatment as I was instead recommended to do some kind of treatment which would i think slow it down over one cycle then the following cycle hopefully do IUI again. Good luck!

Hi @NewToDarkSpaces hope your well, which ivf clinic did u go to and how much it cost you? Just had nhs ivf treatment month ago via ISCI but sadly became a biochemical pregnancy. Got endometriosis but and 1 blocked tube. Had all surgery done.

Hi @Tata41, I'm so sorry to hear you had such a sad experience. It's all so painful. We have given up our journey of trying for a second child. We did a failed medicated IUI and were given very poor chances with IVF - 15% chance of success for each IVF. After 5 years of putting so much energy into trying to stay healthy for a hope of conception (our first was also assisted fertility), an absolutely exhausting first 2 years with my gorgeous son, unstable careers, and a desire not to totally ambush my son's life with all the energies you need to put into trying, we made the very painful decision to give up on our dream. I'll never feel quite right as a family of 3 but that's probably more because I had a slightly challenged childhood with mother divorcing etc so we were a struggling family of 3 and it's never felt quite right. Now it's inverted, but still carries the same imbalance. Anyway, nuff of my backstory!! I really hope you have success. I was anticipating £15K for 2 IVFs with no benefits of young age or good egg reserve. But I think you end up with so many twists and turns as an individual you really can't put a clear cost against it upfront - so yeah, we were going to stop at a spend of £15K. I did a lot of thinking and research into the whole thing. If you wanted to chat sometime I'd be happy to, but anyway I wish you all the best :)

Hi @Whywhatwho hope your okay.. Thanks for responding it's a lot of money this ivf and big risk if it doesn't work. Did tig try some of ivf clinic had refund policy if you get the money back if no baby. Your still lucky having a 1 child 👶. How old are you now hope u don't mind me asking. Just turn 41 . I have appointment nhs next week seee what help I get from them then I make the decision after that. I really just don't want to go to any private ivf clinic might just take my money without looking thru the issue. Do we have chatroom messenger here to talk? Instead email here.
