Getting a treatment plan from doctor

Hello,
We have been trying to get pregnant for 20 months with no luck at all!
We have been using conceive plus and I've been doing ovulation tests, but still no luck.
We went to the doctors last week, they have requested I have a blood test on day 2 - 5 of my cycle and day 21- 28 they have also requested I have an internal pelvic ultrasound.
The doctor didnt explain much about what happens after this?
Has anyone else experienced this and what happens next?
My partner has already been and had a sperm analysis and everything came back fine.
I have a 25-27day cycle and ovulate on day 14 or 15 every month.
Thank you for reading x

Hello, I'm in the same process. Once bloods and sperm samples were done, I went on a wait list. I had a gynaecologist appointment; they did internal swabs and more bloods, then set me up for the pelvic ultrasound and the hsg scan. I have an appt to discuss all the results and determine a treatment plan; likely clomid for a while, then on to ivf. It will all be determined by the test results x

You should be referred to a subfertility unit because this is outside a GPs general remit and you need a diagnosis first and foremost. They can do these tests there. At 20 months of ttc without success there is likely to be a problem with either one or equally both of you contributing to the subfertility.

Dependent on the results of such tests (and some may well need to be repeated like semen analysis) a treatment plan will be drawn up.
I would be very wary if they tell you that you are "unexplained" as sometimes this is told to couples when they have not been adequately investigated.

@AttilaTheMeerkat Thank you, I'm due to have a blood test tomorrow and it's with a different doctor so I'm hoping that I may be able to get a bit more information from them, is it something I can question If they do say its unexplained? X
