Best IVF Clinic in London?

Hi ladies,
I am 35yrs old and new to Mumsnet.
Please can I ask for any recommendations on best IVF clinics in London.
I have already been to Lister and had 2 failed embryo transfers and lost 2 embryos to the thawing process, so I don't want to go there again.
My next options are ARCG, CRGH and Guys St Thomas (Privately)

Has anyone of you been to any of the above? Please can you tell me your experience and if you would recommend any of these places?

ARGC has the highest success rate, but some say they do a lot of unnecessary tests and charge a lot than what they say, is that true?

You genuine experience and recommendation will be highly appreciated.

I used CRGH. Their admin is awful, every time I went I saw a different person, and I had to inform them what they needed to do/give me because no one had a clue and it was all incredibly stressful...but somehow they have amazing success rates, all the meds I saw were good (even if constantly changing), and I conceived on the first round, and will be going back there.

Hi, my husband and I are about to start our IVF journey but are so confused with which clinic to go with. I am 41 and my GP has just carried out all my bloods but we both need to get tests completed. We were looking at Create as the mild/natural root looked appealing but after joining their webinar the other day, we were not really convinced, as the professor just kept saying "I hope I'm convinving you with all of this research" a lot of which seemed quite dated. We then looked into ARGC and have read a lot about their great stats but that they also do things which are unnecessary and also over the top (does that explain their success rate?). Due to my age I'm not sure if there is a better clinic to go with (I get we need to understand if we have any issues with either of us too). Was just wondering if anyone has or is in the same position and can give any advice? Thank you xx

Hi @Cyg79 I've been reading through this thread and think it has very clear advice on if you read back. I'm at ARGC and what you describe is totally accurate. They throw the kitchen sink at it so yes that explains their success and means your cycle won't fail for an avoidable reason but also means you are likely doing a lot of things that may not be necessary for you. They're not just trying to make money out of you (in my opinion) but they won't care about spending your money to do all the tests etc. So you do have to have very deep pockets and it can be stressful too. On the other hand you know you aren't leaving stones unturned.

If you have an element of unexplained infertility and haven't done a DNA sperm fragmentation test on your DP then I would recommend doing that sooner rather than later. We have recently discovered severe MFI and they are now delaying us months to treat. At my age a delay isn't great (older than you!!)

I'm personally interested in the Evewell after reading this thread because I want a clinic that does personalised care but not unnecessary stuff.

Best of luck x

Thank you @Janefx40. Most of the comments in this thread apre from 2019 so just wanted to see if thrre was

Cyg79 · 20/02/2021 10:51

Sorry @Janefx40! So I wanted to see if there were any more recent experiences. Thanks so much for your advice on the DNA sperm test, we'll be sure to include that on our list, are you doing all your tests at ARGC if you don't mind me asking? I think we have defintely decided not to use Create. I looked into Evewell more last night and I am liking what I see and hear, it just a shame they are doing any virtual open days. Wishing you all the best and fingers crossed your delays aren't too long xx

@Cyg79 yes I am at ARGC currently although on a break while we sort out the MFI. They referred us for the sperm DNA frag test but it gets done elsewhere and now we are seeing a specialist elsewhere too.

I did a fresh cycle of IVF/ICSI at ARGC back in 2018 followed by an ICSI cycle at Guys that was a disaster but resulted in my DD despite that. Came back to ARGC last year for a FET that ended in miscarriage and now we were starting with another fresh.

I think I asked my GP to do most of the tests I needed to save money. ARGC will do them but obviously not free.

I suppose I should also say that (from what I understand of other clinics) ARGC do have excellent communication. You can get in touch with them pretty much any time, there are never any waiting lists, you can test for anything you want. From that side they are less stressful that other clinics.

Thank you @janefx40 for sharing so much, really helpful! I have some scans next week via NHS so lets see what they say. Key thing is we both get all of our tests done and understand how we can proceed! Xx

Two other people that we have been recommended are James Nicopoullos at the Lister and Stuart Lavery. Do any of you have any experience with either of these two consultants & IVF? Really appreciate your advice

Hi

I have been reading this thread as I am desperate to start IVF but so confused whether to try traditional high stim IVF which has a higher chance of success rate generally. However, I am not sure if it would work in my situation as I am 44 years old and 45 in 3 months time. I have an AMH of 5.3 and only counted 5 follicles on scan. I can only afford 1 try too so it’s so important that I get the best chances and also the right treatment approach.

I’ve been to create and trying to decide if the mild / natural approach would give me a higher success rate but some people say it’s a waste of money there as low chance on only such a low number of eggs and this is not the best treatment for someone with low ovarian reserve and also at my age too.

I’ve also considered Everall, ARGC and Guys please can anyone in my situation with age and low AMH / follicle count advise on the best type of IVF for me and also the high success rate clinic?

Thank you so much xxx

Hi all 🙋🏻‍♀️

We're currently with Concept Fertility in Wandsworth and they've been absolutely amazing 👌🏻

They've been completely transparent with pricing and answered with detail about anything with queried when it comes to price.
They have even put our next FET down on credit, saving us £1,250 due to our first transfer being abandoned on the day due to no fault of the clinic or us.

They're very professional and the whole team there is just so so lovely ☺️ They have all been incredibly supportive throughout our whole process with them, and having been with them for over a year now through 2 IUIs and an IVF cycle, I couldn't imagine going elsewhere.

We tried ABC in Harley Street before Concept but they basically just conned us into a consultation after promising my other health issues wouldn't be a problem and they could still treat me ... to then have me pay for the consultation and base scan, and for them to change their mind on the day to be all "this is going to be a problem and we want to send you to create instead" 🙄 I go to Concept and they have had 0 problems or obstacles with my preexisting issues 🤷🏻‍♀️ so ABC obviously were not concerned whether they were stressing us out or taking our money
