PURE IVF

Hi

Just wondered if anyone on here had used PURE IVF from Cambridge IVF? It's NHS service at a lower cost than private clinics.

We live in North Essex so unfortunately no NHS funding for any cycles in our area but we do seem to be eligible for the PURE pathway and have our initial consultation in a few weeks...just wondered if anyone had any experience of it?

We've previously had a consultation at a local private clinic but the cost is a lot more so feel like might be better to at least try the PURE pathway because of cost factors... I just can't seem to find much out about it, other than a small bit of literature on the website. The private clinic we went to were really friendly and I got a good feeling about the place but of course money is a big factor.

Thanks for reading xx

I have no experience of pure IVF but I was given both clomid and ovulation induction on the NHS at Cambridge IVF. I really like the clinic and everyone there is very nice.

I believe because it is an NHS centre they have to put all profit back into research. They are also evidence led so are not supposed to sell you anything which doesn’t have at least some foundation. The NHS doctor I saw there said to us ‘do your own research but I don’t think you’ll find a better place than here’.

Top tip if you are there you early morning for scans park at the Trumpington P&R and walk. Cuts out a load of traffic.

We’ve just done pure ivf there with freeze all option. The ivf itself worked but unfortunately had a miscarriage at 8 weeks. I can’t fault the clinic everyone has been really friendly, supportive and knowledgeable. I’d recommend booking and going on an open eve before deciding. It was talking to the embryologist that helped us to decide. As a previous poster said they are evidence led and do ivf at cost - they are not making a profit and so only recommend treatments and extras that they think will benefit you. They also give you a list of tests to ask your doc to do on the nhs to cut costs.

We paid for extras for freeze all and using the embryoscope so ended up nearer to £3500-4000. It does only include one transfer though as far as I’m aware. We think we are going to have one more go with a FET which will then be £1500ish.

I’d recommend them but go through their different packages at open Eve to make sure you get the most cost effective for your situation/finances. I very much felt assured/ confident in their decisions/protocols etc. Think they offer an excellent service.

Feel free to ask any specific questions.

thank you for that info, looking forward to the open evening and finding out more

we are torn between the pure IVF or the discount package.

Hi - thank you for all the replies; really helpfulSmile
We went for initial appointment on Monday with Cambridge IVF satellite clinic in Ipswich (as closer for us) all scans etc there but just means EC and ET will be a bit of travel i.e. to Cambridge.
It seems as though we are eligible for the PURE pathway, which is much more affordable than the private (much nicer/swankier) clinic we were looking at. I suppose their profits go into the fancy coffee machines...
The initial appointment was very informative and they've been so so responsive and helpful with questions, which is great.
