Can sperm count recover?

We were told that DH had very low sperm count & poor motility. We had 3 cycles of ICSI & had our DS. This was confirmed in 2 different clinics during our "journey"

We are considering trying again & so returned to the clinic who analysed another sample & were told that his sperm count & motility is now normal.

I'm struggling to get my head around this, can this happen? Just wondering if anyone has any similar experiences?

Yes my partners varied we had a few awful ones then a year of normal then back to awful again. Make the most of it whilst it lasts.

Yes it can vary quite a lot depending on lots of environmental factors - sperm takes 90 days to mature so it only take a bout of flu/illness/medication etc to crate a "bad batch" and so conversely healthy living limiting caffeine alcohol etc and taking supplements can improve things over 3 months x

Yes things can change but you have to be proactive.
1.) wear boxers. Go commando at night
2.) NO ALCOHOL
3.) supplementation.
4.) time- 3 months.

Can I ask what his count was when it was very low?
My husband has severely low count and we are waiting for icsi. Did it take you 3 goes to get your bfp?
Sorry I hope you don’t mind x

Yes sperm count and egg quality can both improve within 3 months with supplements / weight loss / taking care of yourself. Your clinic should have told you this from the beginning - mine insisted on waiting 3 months to improve egg quality - where I took the supplements my consultant recommended and made the diet changes (I went from pescetarian to eating meat) and weight loss changes etc.

If you feel you weren’t given this option then I suggest contacting the clinic - many will consider a part refund if they feel they didn’t behave ethically. You could then use that towards another cycle.

Yes, and there is also some research on CoQ10 regarding sperm concentration and motility.

Hi, I'm a nutritional therapist and know there are natural ways to increase sperm. Supplements containing zinc are recommended such as Shilajit, He Shou Wu which you can buy at The Natural Dispensary. For more details on how to take it please get in touch [email protected] and I will give you my discount code to get 10% discount on any products from Natural Dispensary. To improve egg quality this pollen honey is recommended www.apitherapywellbeing.co.uk/wellbeing-range/apimist-and-apimist-plus/product/apimist-plus-pollen unless you have an allergy to bee products. I've just published an ebook called Fertility Naturally which can be downloaded from my website www.juliesilver.co.uk/fertility-naturally Julie x
