Hi all, I am struggling to find any reviews for IVF treatment at St Helier hospital.

We have funding approved for our first cycle but just wanted to know if their were any success stories.

They have said we only get 1 round of IVF followed by 1 FET when NICE recommend 3 rounds.

I really hope someone can share their experiences with me.

@Persephone12 I read your comment but never had time to respond.

We are all in this together.

I had to create the thread because we are not talking about a service like no other. This is the single most important thing for us, creating life and being a mum.

It was night and day the level of care, professionalism and consultancy. Just imagine receiving all our information in folder full of photocopied pages that had been copied so many times there were blacks dots everywhere and diagrams looks likes spilt paint.

ACU may well have success stories no doubt but if you want to improve those odds go private!

@Makino hello! Thank you so much for this thread firstly. I'm still in the early assessment stages at St Georges but realised I'd most likely be referred to St helier for assisted conception...

I was wondering which clinic you went with in Wimbledon in the end? You speak of it highly so I would love to consider going privately instead of putting myself through St helier after these reviews 🙊

Hi @Juno231 the clinic is called Create and its their Wimbledon branch but its actually located in Raynes Pk.

Night and Day!!

@Makino thank you for replying! Funnily enough I think my doc for my NHS appointment is also the founder of create. I've been considering their clinic in the City as they would very convenient from a work perspective as well.

Hi ladies, thank you so much for starting and contributing to this thread. I WISH I’d found it months ago… long story short I’m due to start my 1st IVF round treatment at St Helier in 2 weeks. I feel like I can’t back down now and also I can’t afford to go private right now. At least It is taken down the preassure i put on myself regarding the success of this, as if it goes wrong it wont be my fault…

I’d love to know how it went for you Freya.

Persephone12 · 16/03/2022 21:48

@bluelink808 I lost confidence in this hospital but it doesn’t mean it won’t work for you! You know what I think of them, but every person’s experience is different. Wishing you all the best of luck and I hope it will work for you. IVF is so tough, so wishing you the very best of luck!

bluelink808 · 16/03/2022 22:14

bluelink808 · 08/04/2022 17:50

Hi all, we decided to cancel the st helier treatment, the bad reviews together with other problems in our relationship and its all a but too much. It might be the end of it to be honest. I just cant do it anymore and he isnt on board with the ivf anymore. Choose wisely ladies… anyway. All the best to you going private I bet it will be much better to go through. All the best x

Persephone12 · 08/04/2022 18:08

@bluelink808 Hi lovely

So so sorry to hear this. IVF is one bloody rollercoaster and that’s why the UK NHS fertility clinics owe it to us to communicate properly and make the effort with patients, as it’s already such a stressful position to be in.
When they offer a crap service as St Heliers does; you know they just don’t care. These are doctors and nurses that know they are dealing with a sensitive situation but they don’t show any empathy or effort with people, it’s just like paper pushing in office to them! Makes me so angry. I am still intending to write to my local MP (whose a dr at St George’s Hospital) about my dreadful experience.
I’m so sorry this happened to you as well bluelink. Take some time out and have a breather and if you do decide to revisit IVF privately, I would recommend you go to the clinic I used in the Czech Republic; Reprofit.
Don’t use the British agency Your IVF Journey (they are thieves and an unnecessary middleman) just go to the clinic direct. If you do choose to use them look up the support group on Facebook.
Take time out first but don’t despair. This journey has many twists and what might feel like it’s over now, could be the beginning of the next journey.
Sending you hugs.

I would never recommend the IVF unit a St. Helier's to anybody. They are unbelievably incompetent. I have been through IVF cycle recently and I can assure you I was not given the best care there. You are just a number. One doctor tells you one thing and another tells you totally the opposite. Defenitely they don't have the patient care as their priority. Awful experience. AVOID AT ANY COST.

Persephone12 · 07/05/2023 12:48

@Kyra23 so sorry to hear about your poor experience. Makes me so angry to hear how little they care. If you’re still trying to get pregnant I highly recommend going to a private clinic abroad and would recommend the one I used in the Czech Republic (Reprofit). As I type this I’m gazing down at my miracle son whose 6 months today.
Walking away from St Heliers and their awful care and going private was the best decision I’ve ever made in my life. Good luck for the future.

Makino · 08/05/2023 00:42

@Kyra23 I hate this thread it brings back so many horrible memories but I'm hoping it serves a purpose!!

EVERYONE GO PRIVATE!!!
