You'd need to check the policy of your CCG. Most will not fund IVF if you already have children.

As far as I know the guidelines are usually no children from any relationship. Google your PCT (CCG now) and ‘ivf funding criteria’ and you should be able to find out. This is general info from the nhs website:

not having any children already, from both your current and any previous relationships
being a healthy weight
not smoking
falling into a certain age range (for example, some CCGs only fund treatment for women under 35)

As you already have children you aren't eligible on the NHS (even though you're partner doesn't have any) - also the NHS won't fund IVF when you have undergone an elective sterilisation

Almost certainly not I'm afraid :-(

You could, however, participate in egg-sharing to access free IVF (basically a couple in need of an egg donor pay for it, but you get half the eggs harvested and they get the other half. Might result in a biological child for you that you may never know.)

I think there was only one CCG in the UK which would fund ivf if either partner already had children (Islington in London), but they changed it a couple of years ago.

Unfortunately for you, most CCGs also include that neither partner can have previously had a sterilisation procedure, so you will be ineligible on 2 counts

My CCG fund if one of you have children providing the others childless (northwest area) however non will fund if the cause of infertility is due to sterilisation

MyDcAreMarvel · 15/04/2019 20:19

Manchester or Oldham one of the two funds if only one partner has a child.

Lauren83 · 15/04/2019 20:46

Tameside and Glossop do too

hoping2018 · 15/04/2019 21:45

Unfortunately no because you were sterilised and at the time would have been counselled regarding future pregnancy

3boysandabump · 15/04/2019 21:47

Can the sterilisation be reversed?

LuckyLou7 · 15/04/2019 21:49

Have you looked into whether you can have your sterilisation procedure reversed?
