Recurrent implantation failure - tests?

Right, three IVF cycles with six perfect embryos transferred, only one chemical pregnancy to show for it. Previous early MMC and chemical.

I need to figure this out, so I've booked me/us in for:

Hysteroscopy
Endometrial scratch
Immunology
Karyotype x 2
MTHFR
Sperm DNA fragmentation

We've also had the C4/M2 variant test (which came back normal). Bloods, thyroid etc. all fine.

Am I missing anything? Are there any other tests we should do before we try again?

@windy2909 was that £3000 for both procedures?

windy2909 · 07/03/2019 23:03

@ViolaD77 - yes, if I remember correctly i was quoted £3,500 for both under general anaesthetic and £1,800 for both under local. When I had my NHS appointment they said that they would do it under general, so I’m not sure if I’d went for private whether they would have said the same or let me choose.

After 3 failed cycles with good embryos I was suggested to have an era

Basically a mock cycle and they take a biopsy of lining to see if implantation was too early

I had one after my 4th failure

Mine showed it was and I needed more progynova

My 5th was my only ever bfp in 10yrs ttc and dd is 2 in 2w

I would recommend having an era

I also needed my cervix dilated and I had this done abroad under a ga - at the clinic I was having ivf at

Think was about £600.

Uk was £3.5k !!!!!!

Hi redpanda I really rate immune therapy. I've had three transfers of perfect frozen embryos (single each time), great lining thickness and hormone levels. First two i was only doing clexane and progesterone, and the third we added the intralipid infusion. Everything else was equal, and it stuck. I'm currently 12w along so still early days. I know this is only my experience but I do think there is something to the intralipids, and given its otherwise benign in terms of just being soya/egg fats I'd highly recommend it.

So sorry you've had such a tough time so far, i really hope you find the right combination of treatment that leads you to your bfp and beyond

Catren · 01/04/2019 12:05

Also, I had the immune testing done and it came back as borderline, so it wasn't a clear result but i'm glad we gave it a go

@Catren - thanks for posting, and congrats on your BFP!

My tests all came back normal except for elevated NK cell activation. The recommended treatment is prednisone so I'm taking that, plus Inhixa (clexane).

Did your clinic offer intralipids or did you have to arrange it yourself?
