Two failed FETs. Thinking to attempt natural transfer

Hi ladies. I did my second FET of 2 embies on 8 Feb but my period came early, on 6dp5dt. It's not an implantation bleed. I know it's my period as I experienced the same sort of halting bleeding after my previous transfer due to the progesterone shots and Duphaston I experienced a chemical in that first FET and eventually started bleeding around 10dp5dt.. for a couple of days before period came in full force, only to begin spotting again the following week. My cycles are usually a reliable 28 days but those shots really threw me off track and it took some time to get regulated again.

Beta results this morning showed 2.8 hcg. These two FETs were medically guided with HCG, Decapeptyl and Progesterone shots.

I've still got 5 embies frozen from IVF last September. I'd like to go natural the next round. I'd allow for a cycle of rest (now) and transfer in my next cycle in March. I'm wondering if anyone has had a similar experience with medicated FETs and had a positive result after doing a fully natural transfer. The doctor says that the added progesterone would help but I'm wondering if I'd actually be better off without it.

Hi
I've chosen to do a non medicated transfer for my FET in a couple of weeks and have heard a lot of people get Better results. But I will also be taken added progesterone and steroids as well as I have unexplained miscarriages x

Hi there,

My clinic tend to opt for natural fet when patients have a regular cycle. I have to say, I was extremely reluctant and felt that my body would benefit from the added control and support of drugs of a medicated FET. However, I went with what they advised and my first FET was successful. Apart from an hcg shot at transfer, I had no other meds whatsoever and couldn’t believe it that my body managed to do the rest.

I would definitely recommend speaking to your clinic to see whether they would advise it for you. If they decide it’s not best for you they can explain their reasons. It’s great that you have a good number of embryos frozen!

Hi Mariethecat, thanks for yr thoughts. I'll be up for my next transfer late march and am likely to go unmedicated this time.

Windy, my clinic prefers to do medicated transfers for scheduling purposes. As my cycles are regular, my doctor has left to me the decision to go natural or medicated. From my past 2 medicated FETs, the first which ended with a chemical and second that didn't take at all, I experienced long spells of spotting between periods.
I'm glad to hear your transfer was successful.

Take care, ladies, and all the best.

Til our bub arrives in our arms,
Phyl
