Serrapeptase

Anyone tried it? I very much appreciate it comes into the woo/old wives tales category but as we can't go any further until I lose some weight (which I'm working on) I thought I might as well give it a go.
One of our diagnosis is hydrosalpinx following a badly managed ectopic nearly 2 years ago. I started taking it a week ago, so far AF has arrived two days early and was really mucousy for the first day, then really watery. All very unusual. My back pain has reduced which may be down to scar tissue from 3 rounds of abdominal surgery being 'eaten up' or may be because it seems to have some recognised painkilling properties (probably more likely).
I really do know it's not going to do anything and that in all likely hood I need to lose that tube but yet here I am doing it anyway. Embarrassingly I'm a HCP and I'm basing this all on a really old baby centre thread - please tell me I'm not the only one this dumb?

Hi @rainbowgrimm, funnily enough I ordered some serrapeptase a week ago but haven’t taken any yet as have been on my period and read not to take it on your period because it can act as a blood thinner? Going to start it tomorrow though.

I’m taking it because I had an ectopic in June and because my tube ruptured I had it removed. Since then I’ve been getting pains and had a scan recently which showed scar tissue in my uterus which must have got there from the surgery :(. I need more tests done to see how bad it is and to see whether my remaining tube is blocked.

I came across serrapeptasr when I was looking for natural ways to help with scar tissue and thought it was worth a try. Which brand did you buy? I’ve got the lindens 250,000 iu one.

That’s interesting that it sounds like you’ve had some effects already, hopefully it’s doing something good. I’ll update with how I get on when I start taking it.

Morning Charlyn, sorry to hear about your ectopic, it's shit isn't it?
Yes I'm taking 250,000, it's in a sealed bag rather than a jar - not sure what brand it is. It was £8.99 on Amazon for a month's worth. I'm not getting my hopes up in anyway, we have ovulation issues as well as the hydrosalpinx so will probably be moving on to IVF at some point but as I need to lose some weight first this makes me feel like I'm doing something anything
I thought I'd moved on from all the alternative therapies but a close friend's just had her third baby (we met having our first) and I think I need something to give me a bit of hope.

Hi, just wading into say I took serrapeptase following major abdominal surgery. I was recommended it by a nutrionist and read up on it at the time. We weren't ttc but when we did we conceived quickly. Hope it works for you! I had the one by Nutri advanced.

@rainbowgrimm It sounds like the same one I bought, I got mine from Amazon and it came in a sealed bag. I’ve taken it 2 days now and touch what I’d but no side effects.

Sorry to read you had a badly managed ectopic too. Mine took so long to be diagnosed even one it had ruptured and my abdomen was filled with blood. I had 2 bottles worth of blood clots removed during the surgery according to the doctor and I wonder if that’s what caused the scarring in my uterus.
How did you feel bad out about the hydrosalpinx, did you have a hsg? I feel like I’m stuck in limbo atm as I don’t know if my remaining tube is blocked and whether I need surgery on the scar tissue but my gp said he wouldn’t refer me until I’ve been trying longer. I also have ovulation issues as I have long irregular cycles and not sure if I always ovulate. I’m also taking agnus castus as my daughter was conceived using that after trying for 20 months and my ectopic was conceived first time on AC too.

The serrapeptase doesn’t seem to have any bad side effects and is cheap so worth a try.
