How far do you think I can get with NHS given I’ve got 2 kids already? GP gave me metformin which did nothing over the past 8 months. Even if GP prescribes clomid I’d probably need close monitoring due to very high AMH. Is there anything else NHS can do for us, extra tests/scans/etc? Or should I not even bother with GP appointment and go straight private?

Hi
I'm in the exact same situation. Have 2 dd and have been trying for a third child for just over a year. PCOS diagnosed 8 years ago. Have had 3 miscarriages in just under 2 years. Last one was last week and I saw my GP. She has referred to a gynacologist, however she was unsure if I'd even get an appointment since I already have children. I have got an appointment but it's not until December. I fear they won't offer any assistance. I had absolutely no issues conceiving my 2 dds. I suspect my issue is hormonal. I hope you get the answers and help you are looking for x

Verydonut, thanks for your reply. Sort to hear about your losses, must be devastating. Having being able to conceive 2 kids naturally and able to become pregnant 3 times over 2 years doesn’t sound like a person with pcos, but I’m not a doctor, guess it varies from person to person. Have you asked for progesterone to be tested in the early days of pregnancy? Pcos ladies often have issues with it. I had to take progesterone up to 20 weeks with both of my dc. My issue has always been with getting pregnant in first place. Each time it happened only one I start taking progesterone in the second half of my cycle. But it’s not something that doctors would prescribe in this country, maybe it was just a coincidence both times.

I can assure you I definitely have pcos, I've had the bloods and internal scans and ultrasounds to be sure. As you say it can affect everyone differently. I have been very lucky to conceive with no issues twice. I am now having issues in maintaining a pregnancy. I am of the opinion that progesterone is the issue, however with my three loses I have never been offered this in early pregnancy.
I am now trying to make the difficult decision of continuing to try and hopefully not miscarry again, or to give up trying for a third. My daughter's are the light of my world. I just don't know if I can handle another loss.
