I know the struggles with getting time off work etc!!!

What is everyone doing or have done in the past about time of after transfer??

Is it best to book 3/5 days off to relax etc???

Some say bed rest and no sleeping on your sides as it increases the chances of ectopic?

Some say keep moving as it helps blood flow???

Does anyone take aspirin to help?

Ahhhhh what to do???

Would love to hear what others think or have done?

The first cycle I had I took a week off work after transfer, but I regretted it because I was just torturing myself wondering if it worked the whole time.

Second cycle I had the weekend as it was on a Friday and then I just went back to work on the Monday as normal, I personally found it much better to keep busy. That cycle I lived my normal life, didn't do anything differently whatsoever, even DTD when we fancied! Although it can be hard to accept, I honestly don't think there's anything you can do to influence the outcome, you just have to do whatever gets you through the terrible waiting period.

Never heard of the bed rest/sleeping on your side stuff! And I definitely wouldn't take aspirin unless prescribed.

Good luck!

I had ages off work and got a sick note from the GP - but also got >20 eggs both time so did genuinely feel rubbish. Second cycle I took more time and it worked - unrelated but I was generally trying to be kinder to myself

In the early days of IVF people were kept on bed rest but it was shown to be better to keep moving and keep a good blood flow round the body, no need to rest following transfer just follow a diet as if you were pregnant, nothing that raises your body temperate or blood pressure too much and avoid hot baths as your cervix will be slightly open following transfer so more prone to infection, most people go back to work the day after or have 1 day off although some choose to be signed off by their GP for a week or so, I always think if you plan on taking a few days off do it around test day

No rest. Took the day off but went for a lunch and a long walk straight after. Next day back to work. The only rest you need is after egg collection.

Personally I wouldn't touch bed rest with a ten-foot pole. After my last transfer, I went and got a burger, and then went round the Doctor Who Experience!

After Bith my sucessful transferred I was back to work the next day. Definitely no bed rest. Plenty of walking, no hot baths or showers and no jumping or running. It’s definiteky good to keep up a basic level of activity - keep the blood flowing
