Hi all,
I had been diagnosed with endo and have laproscopy surgery in 6-8 weeks and think I need to get back to healthy eating to support it.

I was wondering if there were any success stories in terms of symptom management and getting pregnant following the endo diet-no red meat, gluten, refined sugar, dairy? Any thoughts would be really useful-any diet changes that helped? I need motivation! I am reading up on it but not very knowledgable at the moment!

Thanks!

Hello I had endo removed 2 years ago and no pregnant yet 😔.I will have IVF in a couple of months.i am eating healthier, less sugars, substituted milk with almond milk but I really can't give up cheese and gluten as I eat pizzas occasionally, pasta...my pain is unbearable and it didn't improve after the laparoscopy.I would be happy to improve my diet but do I really need to cut everything??

I cut out gluten and dairy, started to do it loosely and then was diagnosed as intolerant so have cut it out completely.

I have to say my pain decreased within weeks. I am not pregnant however that’s due to other reasons following more tests.

I cut out gluten and found it really helps - I notice when I do eat it because the bloating is worse and I have more painful gastric symptoms. I also notice improvements when there's less stress, less caffeine, less alcohol, sugar and red meat. But being motivated to be consistent with positive food choices when the TTC journey is so up and down is another matter! I had laparoscopy for treatment and diagnosis of endometriosis coming up to 3 years ago. Since then I've had 2 pregnancies which ended in miscarriage and will be returning to the clinic to begin IVF in the autumn. Assuming I don't get lucky first. In all I've been trying to start a family for 4 years. I found Dian Shepperson Mills book Endometriosis: A Key to Healing and Fertility through Nutrition to be really helpful as the key nutritional messages are related to aspects of the disease e.g. foods to avoid in order to reduce prostaglandins.
