Woke up this morning feeling real sorry for myself

I recently went to the doctors to talk about my lack of periods, which has always been an issue for me 😖 I've got to go back next week to have tests and scans done, but the doctors said there is a high chance I'll struggle to conceive naturally or at all 😭 how do you lovely ladies cope I'm only 22 😭

@bigmummabear1 I'm so sorry to read this you are only 22? Life is so cruel. When are you going to get seen? If you still get a period even if it's not frequently you never know don't give up until you have the full story. Get all your results in and have them explained to you. There might be something they can do for you i.e freeze eggs for future use. Get referred to a fertility specialist. Good luck xx

You're only 22 so have time on your side!

For example PCOS causes erratic ovulation but weight loss and meds can get you regulating regularly. You may struggle to conceive (which is super rubbish) but at 22 I have faith you'll get there eventually - feel pleased you haven't embarked on the TTC journey later in life! Good luck

Is this your GP or a fertility expert telling you this? A lack of periods on its own doesn’t mean you won’t ever become pregnant. There are drugs that can induce ovulation unless that isn’t relevant in your case. It’s very early days, and there are lots of steps before you have to come to terms with infertility. Well done for getting it investigated at an early age. And good luck OP.

Also my friend had cycles lasting 40-56 days. She conceived much much quicker than me with me perfect 28 day cycles!

I got told the same by a fertility specialist when I was just a couple years older than you are. Think I was on HRT at the age of 21. I worried myself a lot about it until I made peace with the fact I may never be a mum. Declined further extensive tests and their option of freezing eggs to use on a surrogate. Decided to give it a go naturally at the end of last year, expecting my little boy to arrive a couple of days after my 35th birthday. They don't always get it right Smile

Please try not to worry at this stage, you are so young and have loads of time. I have had issues with my cycles since the age of 15, and although I've not been diagnosed with PCOS I do have polycystic ovaries and do not ovulate regularly as a result. When I was 24 I went nearly a year without a period.

I was prescribed clomid when I decided to TTC and conceived on cycle 3. I was 26 and it was all fairly straightforward, I went on to have an easy, low-risk pregnancy with my daughter. There are so many things they can do to help nowadays.
