Starting to explore my infertility

This may be a little long winded so I do apologise in advance! 9 years ago I had a large cyst removed from my right ovary. Part of my ovary was removed by I was sent a letter to say my fertility would be normal. Always doubted it but accepted the diagnois. In March of last year my partner and I decided to start ttc. After 6 months I finally fell pregnant. About a week after I found out I started to have some light bleeding. Went to my doctor and they didn't seem to concerned but by this point in the day the local early pregnancy unit was closed. I was told I would have to wait until the next day. I was due to go on holiday so I searched the Internet and managed to find and EPU who were further away but were open till much later. So I went and had an internal scan and they said it was 'normal early pregnancy bleeding' and it should stop. Went on holiday and the bleeding continued so I ended up going to the hospital in Spain after being prodded and pocked and given another internal. They said that I was miscarrying. My partner and I decided we would keep trying until we fell pregnant again. Since September we have had nothing. After watching everyone else fall pregnant but me I went to my doctors. They requested blood tests. Had one to check whether I was ovulating. The test came back that my progesterone was slightly lower than ideal. Mine was 28 but they like to see levels of 30 or more. Although this cycle was longer than usual so this is probably why. I'll have another one this cycle. Today I had another internal and the findings weren't great from what I can make out. The doctor could not find my right ovary. Although in the past there has been some difficulty finding it due to my surgery. My left ovary was polycystic and they found an endometric cyst. So feeling really disappointed right now. Any other ladies experienced anything similar and gone on to have healthy babies?

Not sure if this helps, but you don't fit the definition of infertile. You managed to get pregnant within the last 12 months and that is a very good thing in the fertility world. I am very sorry for the loss you had (I've had two chemical pregnancies during my first year of ttc), which is probably making the emotional part harder for you than it should be.

It is very very normal for it to take 12 months to fall pregnant and a significant minority of pregnancies end in miscarriage (especially early on). Something like 80% will fall in a year. So if you take that date from your mc you are still very much in the normal range.

That is very frustrating for you to hear, probably, as we'd all love there to be a 'fix' and to fall pregnant, like 6 months ago, but actually the statistics on this are all on your side: you have been pregnant and it hasn't been a year or more since you last were pregnant.

Again, I am sorry if anything I've written is tough to hear. You are obviously welcome here.

Hugs.

Not at all! I'd much rather receive honest responses. You've not said anything hurtful in anyway. I think given my history with previously having surgery my doctor referred me for further tests, that's not necessarily to say they will look at fertility treatments in the near future. I just feel like things are a little bit hopeless at the moment.
Thank you so much! Just got to try to be a little more positive!

And I've think that's it: you still have hope of conceiving naturally because you have! So chin up and big hugs. Be kind to yourself and keep your expectations low.
